Don’t get things confused. Healthy margins > differentiators Leave more money to focus on marketing. Don’t forget that the customer has to know your product exists. Make your money, then wow them with more. Keep building.

So a few things: I think the uncomfortable truth is that many of the immigrants that come to Portugal (and rest of Southern Europe) particularly South Asia work really hard, many work harder than Portuguese because they have more at stake Majority of the Uber drivers are South Asian, their cars are generally cleaner and they're much friendlier than the very frustrated, stressed and angry native Portuguese Uber drivers (who are probably angry cause they getting squeezed out of the market by immigrants to be fair) 99% of the South Asians in Portugal I talked to are very honest about their game plan: - Stay in Portugal 5 years then get the passport - They work hard, in farming, factories as Uber driver - Often their wife also works, but they don't register as a couple. Why? Well.... - A large share of them often work illegally (as in unregistered), while registering as unemployed and apply for free welfare benefits which are very easy to get in Portugal, this is 100% welfare fraud - A lot of the money (both work + welfare) is sent back to families in their home countries, some of the money is invested in real estate at home or in places like Dubai - Once they get their Portuguese passport after 5 years, they get instant access to the European Union, can live anywhere and they say they will move to UK or Germany, for better work opportunities (and possibly welfare too) You have to understand one thing, to us this feels like dishonest fraud and it absolutely is but to them they're just hacking the system without considering much about the long term damage One thing I learnt is the South Asians I met were all very friendly to me and they're just trying to get themselves out of poverty, you gotta imagine what you would do in their situ What we have to do in Europe is completely shutdown welfare for new immigrants first 10-20 years or so or at least until you've paid net into the system enough

Has this massive 3rd world immigrant inflow affected your life here in Portugal in any way? I’m not sure how long you’ve lived here for, but the increase has been exponential these last 7 years

Me and @jstryderbuilds completed our 30 apps in 30 days challenge It took longer than expected with holidays , getting sick and me moving but those were some of the obstacles we faced and finished the challenge Here were some of our favorites and we seek to build 15/30 out further and market them

We made a blog site that reflects @Polymarket current market One article is just an example of what the site will look like, with info finance emerging we wanted to hop on this trend. Betting results of the election turned out to be true , it will be interesting to see what else will be a direct reflection from these markets The site is Polyscope.info

✅ Bought $72,450 of $AMD stock Seems a good bet and early as @realGeorgeHotz is making AMD GPUs compatible with Nvidia code If it works it means AMD is the first company that might actually be able to compete with Nvidia's monopoly on GPUs with its proprietary CUDA code

Here's when Euclidean Distance can be misleading. During its distance calculation, Euclidean distance assumes independent axes. The distance calculation is more circular (or globular) in shape. But, if your features are correlated, euclidean will produce misleading results. Mahalanobis distance addresses this limitation. It is a distance metric that takes into account the data distribution. As a result, it can measure how far away a data point is from the distribution, which Euclidean can not. Its effectiveness is evident from the image below: - Euclidean distance says that P2 and P3 are equidistant to P1. - Mahalanobis distance says that P2 is closer to P1 than P3. Mahalanobis distance is better because P2 is indeed closer to the data distribution. In a gist, it constructs a new coordinate system with orthogonal axes. Computationally, it works as follows: - Step 1: Transform the columns into uncorrelated variables. - Step 2: Scale the new variables to make their variance equal to 1. - Step 3: Find the Euclidean distance in this new coordinate system. So, eventually, we do use Euclidean distance. However, we first transform the data to ensure that it obeys the assumptions of Euclidean distance. -- 👉 Join 80k+ data scientists and get a Free data science PDF (550+ pages) with 320+ posts by subscribing to my daily newsletter: blog.dailydoseofds.com -- 👉 Over to you: What are some other limitations of Euclidean distance?

The time complexity of 10 popular ML algorithms in a single frame. Understanding the run time of ML algorithms is important because it helps us: - Build a core understanding of an algorithm. - Understand the data-specific conditions that allow us to use an algorithm. For instance, using SVM or t-SNE on large datasets is infeasible because of their polynomial relation with data size. Similarly, using OLS on a high-dimensional dataset makes no sense because its run-time grows cubically with total features. -- 👉 Join 80k+ data scientists and get a Free data science PDF (550+ pages) with 320+ posts by subscribing to my daily newsletter: blog.dailydoseofds.com -- 👉 Over to you: Can you tell the inference run-time of KMeans Clustering?
