🚨 “If You Don’t See It as a Red Card, Then Football Is Not for You” — Thierry Henry on Embolo’s Dismissal 🗣️ :“First of all, I want to give a lot of credit to the referee. In moments like this, under pressure, with the intensity of the game rising, it’s not easy to make big decisions — but he handled the situation very, very well. Calm, composed, and most importantly, consistent. That’s exactly the kind of discipline football needs. Now, when you look at the incident… I really don’t understand why Embolo goes into that challenge like that. Your team has just started to dominate the game, you are building momentum, everything is going in your favor — and you are already on a yellow card. You have to be smarter than that. You have to read the moment. There is no need to dive into a situation like that. You’re risking everything — not just for yourself, but for your team. At this level, that lack of control can cost you the game, and it did. And let me be very clear — if there are people who think that is not a red card, then football is not for them. The rules are there for a reason. Discipline is part of the game. You cannot complain when a player crosses that line and gets punished. For me, the referee got it absolutely right.”
