Soaring prices? The most recent monthly US CPI data are from July.
This was also the month in which this @WSJ article was published (July 12th). Here is a look at monthly New York ‘C’ prices from July 1990 ($0.94) to July 2021 ($1.80).
The latter price was $0.16 LOWER than it would have been if the July 1990 New York ‘C’ had simply followed inflation. How is this a soaring commodity price?
