I'm no expert Napoleonist but surely the line here is 'see how a Marshal of France dies'...?

The only good use of family money is buying a sailboat called Kissed by the Wind and dying on it immediately

this is probably the worst thing to ever hit someone's neck at one of these tents
Yesterday, a masked far-left thug cowardly hurled yoghurt at @NickTenconi while he sat peacefully at our free speech stand at KCL.
Imagine being so consumed by hatred that you resort to attacking someone simply for expressing views you disagree with.
These extremists have been emboldened by leftist politicians who turn a blind eye to their intimidation and excuse their behaviour.
No one should have to face abuse for exercising their right to free speech.
Political violence is utterly disgraceful and must never be tolerated.

Finally found the picture I KNEW I had somewhere. County Stadium with my Little League team in '98 or '99? Got to meet Jeromy Burnitz. Despite my face, I was thrilled, just starstruck. He said he liked my shirt 😭

what a high bar we set for Palestinians to prove their humanity to us!
Jason Alexander says he feared visiting Palestine as a Jew until 10 Palestinians protected him during an Israeli army raid in Ramallah
“How much of a risk would I be taking as an American Jew walking into Palestinian cities? And Mohammed said, ‘The greatest dishonor that could happen to a religious Muslim is to allow harm to come to an invited guest’”
“And he said, ‘Jason, if they had to, they’ll take a bullet for you.’ And what was so interesting about that trip is, we were having lunch in Ramallah with a bunch of actors and artists at a sort of outdoor restaurant”
“And the Israeli army was conducting a raid on a bank that they thought had terrorist ties a couple blocks away. And they must have, to announce themselves, just shot into the air. And I remember 10 of those guys at the table surrounding me. And I went, ‘Oh my God, he wasn’t kidding. They’re not going to let me get hurt’”

Real images of human beings, from the Revolutionary War, seen by human eyes, processed by human brains, and drawn by human hands, are infinitely more valuable than AI produced images could ever be.

definitely my fiction read of the year so far. It’s funny and heavy and poetic and depressing and uplifting and so many other things
I don’t know if it’s in translation yet but when it is out in your language of choice you’ve got to check it out

Speaking of school shooters, here's Admiral Bradley Cooper, who is personally responsible for murdering 120 children in Minab, probably deliberately after Trump and Hegseth gave him permission to kill the families of "terrorists," a policy both have long championed.
