“I was in Nicaragua with the Sandinistas. I’ve argued for Leonard Peltier, Mumia Abu-Jamal, the United Farm Workers. I’ve been a radical for a long time. I guess it’s too bad. I’d be more marketable as a right-wing redneck. But I got into this to tell the truth as I saw it”—Kris Kristopherson. Rest in peace singer, songwriter, veteran, working class hero.
Yo @WatchMarquee grab Jameson Taillon and tell him today did mean something! @Cubs secured a winning record for the season today!

Not bad but I’m sorry, a vanguard GenXer from Minnesota does not have a playlist without Soul Asylum Runaway Train. Also Jayhawks’ Blue, and some Husker Dü.
comms team: we have to have chapell roan *somewhere* on this summer playlist….for the kidz
tim walz: ok! but the rest of this list is mmeeeeeeee💯🎸
ALT Tim Walz’s 2024 Summer Playlist, including Pat Benator, Bruce Springsteen, Prince, Peter Gabriel, Dire Straits, Duran Duran, Stevie Nicks, Heart, The Cure + more.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
This is not official. It is a user-made concept that guesses which songs Walz might pick for a hypothetical playlist; a parody of Barack Obama's summer playlists.

The John Baker Game. Baker pitches a scoreless 16th inning and then scores the game winning run on Starlin Castro’s sacrifice fly.
White dudes! I know and love a lot of you. I married a couple of you. It’s your time. Get on board.

I'm actually scared of 44k white women gathering to talk about about a Black woman when shes not there. I'm rooting for y'all though
On Sunday night, 44,000 women gathered with @WinWithBLKWomen to support Kamala Harris, and they raised over $1 million. It’s our turn to show up. So that’s what we’re doing.
All are welcome. Tell your people.
