Pathetic. Of course we waived sanctions. The Republican Party has become a Vichy party. It's the party of appeasement and weakness.

People always ask me why I believe First World War Germany was far stronger and militarily superior to Second World War Germany. This is one of the main reasons. Hitler's was a government full of sycophants and conspiracy nuts. And they made stupid error after stupid error.
"Totalitarianism in power invariably replaces all first-rate talents, regardless of their sympathies, with those crackpots and fools whose lack of intelligence and creativity is still the best guarantee of their loyalty.”  —Hannah Arendt The Origins of Totalitarianism (1951)

When I was on the radio in the Clinton years the favorite term used by my right-wing callers (who spoke of "black helicopters and the like) was "jackbooted government thugs" (this was after Waco and Ruby Ridge). They used that phrase CONSTANTLY. I wonder how they're feeling now?

The number of people gleefully defending shooting a man on the ground with 4 or 5 guys on top of him kicking him and punching him in MN today is disgusting. I covered police shootings. No police dept. in America could do this and not have a comprehensive hearing/trial afterward.

Standard operating procedure in a police shooting is to take the shooter and put them on paid leave while the investigation occurs and then the investigations results would be announced to the public. The public is then allowed questions etc. Is any of this going to happen?

Regardless of your thoughts on today's MN shooting the predictable response by the administration officials should really tell you all you need to know. While some try to parse out video frames, they're straight up using words like "assassin", "domestic terrorist" etc. ORWELLIAN.

How about we unmask all these bots again?I'm sympathetic to the idea that some people might be in countries that then go after them if their location is disclosed. But right now the site is being used to rip America apart from within. And it's mostly paid non-Americans doing it.
Replying to @dccommonsense
These comments (many of which I pray are foreign agitators or bots) are even more troubling than your prediction. Though I share the same feeling you have. We are on the titanic and half on board are cheering for the iceberg.

Americans are being confused about the difference between illegitimate political "lawfare" and absolutely necessary political "oversight". Those terms are being deliberately conflated by politicians and the President.Good rule of thumb:if you're actually guilty,it's not lawfare.

Selling stolen oil and putting billions of dollars in a bank in Qatar to be spent without Congressional approval is not Constitutional. Only Congress can appropriate money. The President can’t legally create a second Treasury overseas for his own piggy bank. Wake up Congress.

We have 217 signatures on the discharge petition to force a vote on legislation to release the Epstein files. We need 218. Will the 218th (final) signature be a Republican or a Democrat? It’s time for every Congressmen to support transparency and justice for the victims.
