🍽 SNAP funding cuts in the House budget reconciliation bill would mean fewer of our neighbors can access the nutritious food we all need to thrive. We ask lawmakers to protect funding for essential programs like SNAP & Medicaid. 🚨 Act Now:️ bit.ly/4mjQcPS

"When I lost my #SNAP benefits.... I was worried about where I was going to find food & it just got more difficult every day." -Mike Scott, a former SNAP participant who struggles to meet work requirements without access to reliable transport. Click the video to hear more:

This is absurdity. The #SNAP time limit waivers are reasonable & critical way for states to choose whether to waive onerous/punitive/not evidence based time limit in areas with elevated rates of unemployment - where many people face systemic barriers accessing consistent work.
Graves suggesting work requirements is still a hang up: Says (rough quote): you've seen abuse of the waivers …that are in the law today. Says it’s a “totally appropriate” thing for them to be pushing here

"I'm a marine vet & I was injured in Iraq. I lost my #SNAP benefits when I came up against that 20/hr rule & it's very difficult for me to get food in my house." That's Brian Strouse, Iraq vet & working dad. No one should go hungry bc they can't meet work-reporting requirements.

As #debtceiling negotiations continue, we urge @POTUS @SenSchumer @LeaderMcConnell @SpeakerMcCarthy @RepJeffries to reject proposals to further restrict #SNAP. Adding red tape & bureaucracy to SNAP, which already has work requirements, will only hurt people facing hunger.

With lots of claims flying about policies that take #health coverage, food assistance & income support from people who don’t meet work-reporting requirements, it’s worth remembering there’s loads of real-world evidence showing they don’t work.

🍎 @FeedingAmerica strongly supported the spending bill's passage because of the permanent programs the bill creates & enhances to address summer child hunger, despite our opposition to the sunsetting of temporary pandemic-related benefit enhancements to pay for these provisions.
