Every business owner I talk to, bar none, is fully strung out at the moment. With the lag time of business confidence to economic downturn, we are in for hard times ahead. Recruiting less because IR compliance and cost has got too hard means unemployment ahead. Investing less because of the outrageous inflation on equipment, combined with high financing costs, means lower productivity ahead. Downscaling to manage stress from all the above means reduced income, and therefore reduced tax revenue for the government. Market failure from reduced private sector viability means government will invade the market even further - which means they will spend even more. When small businesses struggle, Australia struggles soon behind it. There is just no way this government has the will, the capacity or the talent to turn this careering titanic around. Democracy fails when the majority of voters are insulated by government largesse from the true wreckage happening around them, which is the only explanation I can find for Labor continuing to get elected. Inexplicably persecuting small business while racking up record government debt is a guaranteed path to ruin. Who do you believe will turn it around, and more importantly, how are they going to get elected?

Lots of talk on barley varieties and quality. Here’s maximus, reaper and neo in order. This site extremely hard finish, 145mm ytd. Grain quality analysis will be interesting. Trial with @HartBrosSeeds 👌 #aggrowagronomy

We're looking for a new team member to join our cropping and cattle operation in the new year. Ideally someone capable of leading the spraying operations as well as general farm work, but there is flexibility to adjust the role to suit the right person. facebook.com/share/p/1C5grJ6…

Visa holdups threatening harvest now. We’re waiting on 2 people from the UK who applied for visas a month ago. Last year they were approved straight away. Grain harvest in WA runs on skilled backpackers on WHVs

We're looking for someone to join our team. Machinery focused, but with plenty of variety across machines and our cattle operation. We're a family and community friendly operation looking for a conscientious operator with a positive attitude. facebook.com/share/p/1Q9nmSL…

Taking bets of grain yield for this paddock of Kestrel wheat from @InterGrain1 Trial paddock of high density sown kestrel, emerged 4-June (not 11 weeks ago) What kind of a finish does this need for such a late emergence? Entering grain fill in August is spot on. 600+ heads sqm
Kestrel wheat - v quick type Earlier flowering produces bigger grain, but costs tillering time Nitrogen capture produces tillers, number of grains More plants produce more tillers, heads and grains, flowering earlier = bigger grains - yield stability. Plenty still to learn

With all the nonsense 50s that are paid for meaningless "stand" infringements, I wish the umpires would focus more on the basics. Not in the contest, pushes him in the back after the mark and directly causes the injury. If that's not a clear 50 we are focusing on the wrong stuff
Jack Hutchinson has been ruled out of the match with injury. #AFLEaglesLions

Looking for advice from the bike gurus. 13 going on 14yr olf youngster has outgrown his older CRF110F. Natural progression is probably CRF125FB big wheel, but what are the thoughts on a XR150L? General farm mustering and trail riding. He's not a racer by any means. Thoughts?

Thanks for all the advice gurus. Bit of a wait on the CRF300F, so we ended up with a major shuffle. KLX230RS for the 13yr old and 125 big wheel for the 12yr old. Seems to be a pretty good fit. The younger cousins pretty excited about getting the smaller bikes in the reshuffle

The Treasurer described it as line ball about whether it was in the national interest. It's seems like in the case of essentially a casting vote on this issue, coming down on the side of the status quo would've been more appropriate.

Really interesting N work post vetch
N dynamics with sowing densities and N inputs in a high N environment - to better understand legacy NUE. This time in a clay loam soil type and compare with the deep ameliorated sand in Yuna. Looking the part with big differences in early light interception. @GRDCWest

Didn't get bogged, and finished the day with two operational machines. I'm calling that progress.
Real symmetry to today's activities. Started with two machines bogged, one with 2 blown hyd hoses. Finished thy day with one machine bogged, and the other with another blown hose. Lovely evening for a trip on the foot falcon though.
