It is sickening that the USA is now lifting sanctions on Russian fuel, and transparently ridiculous to blame Ukraine for the spike in prices that obviously began with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Putin is murdering innocent Ukrainian civilians every day. The Ukrainians are fighting for their lives. And yet the White House is apparently determined to force American drivers to bankroll Putin’s slaughter. It won’t work and I doubt it will make much difference to the price of fuel. If we want Russian oil and gas back on the world market then let’s end this war - with a free, sovereign and independent Ukraine.

Hi @g__j can you help me understand your letter just sent out about tariff changes? You say that standing charges are falling, though it may look like they are increasing - what I pay from 16th is higher than what I pay now 1/2

Is this some sort of weird gaslighting or what am I missing? It’s going from 51.33p to 51.67p but apparently that’s a drop in price? Not that it really matters, it’s just off to phrase it to us in that way. All the best.

Another @f1 wet weather farce. Wait until it’s too dry for full wets and then half the cars break down because they don’t wet weather test these things. Makes it all look a bit stupid.

Worth looking back at this. Not a single one of these claims Musk made in this earnings call came to pass. @C_S_Skeptic
Tesla’s Q4 Earnings call was 🔥. Here’s a quick summary: • Elon Musk says 2025 will be most important year in Tesla’s history. • Unsupervised Paid Robotaxi Service will be launching June 2025 in Austin, Texas. • Tesla will launch their own fleet in Austin at first, then customer cars maybe next year. • Tesla is confident Unsupervised FSD will be available in many cities of the US by the end of 2025, not just California & Texas. • Elon is confident Unsupervised FSD will be available everywhere in North America in 2026. • Owners will be able to add their own vehicles to the Tesla Robotaxi fleet sometime next year. • Elon “Everything else will pale in terms of revenue when compared to Optimus”. • Tesla confirms they will be building a 3rd Megapack factory. • Tesla says they’re getting lots of interest from automakers who want to license FSD. • All factories will be producing the new Model Y next month. • Elon: "Optimus will be overwhelmingly the value of the company" • Tesla could deliver Optimus robots to other companies to work sometime in Q3/Q4 2026. • Elon: "The honest answer is we're going to need to upgrade HW3 computers for those who purchased the FSD package" • The only thing holding back worldwide Unsupervised FSD is regulatory approval. • Elon predicts Unsupervised FSD worldwide by the end of 2026. • Unsupervised FSD is a little more challenging to train in China due to unique road rules. They’re confident that they’ll be able to get it done. • Elon: “All transport will be Autonomous and Electric, including aircrafts”

I did 3 episodes of Pointless, which I think gives me more BBC prime time exposure than this years #Strictly contestants.

Flippin’ heck @F1 are we really stuck with this Madrid track for the next decade? 😴 Characterless, bland, boring and no overtaking even in F3. This season is making me become a big @IndyCar fan.

Now hiring night shift supervisors so the robotaxis can be supervised at night. Lol. Can't make this up. 😂
❤️‍🔥Tesla is hiring Robotaxi Fleet Support Supervisors across these 21 cities (Night Shift). Cybercabs incoming.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The job postings are for supervisors of support teams handling Robotaxi fleet maintenance, cleaning, charging and overnight preparation, not supervising vehicle operations. tesla.com/careers/search… physicalai.jobs/tesla/supervis… x.com/TeslaZoa/statu…

🚨 This should be national news. Britain faces a fertiliser shortage which threatens food supply but it is buried in the business pages. The government led by @BorisJohnson stood by as CF Fertilisers’ Ince ammonia plant closed in 2022, hammering domestic capacity. What remains now relies on imported ammonia. No fertiliser means lower yields, higher prices and potential shortages, on top of climate disruption, Brexit trade barriers, reduced farm support and chronic labour shortages. Nor can Britain assume it will always be able to import the food it fails to produce. Other countries face the same climate, fertiliser and geopolitical shocks and falling global production means less food available to buy. You cannot outsource food security. Fertiliser produces calories. Food is national security.

Two economists mathematically proved that AI will destroy the economy. Researchers from Wharton and Boston University published a terryfiying paper called "The AI Layoff Trap." They mapped out the economic end-game of the AI transition, and it exposes a fatal flaw in competitive capitalism. When a company replaces a worker with AI, it captures 100% of the wage savings. But that displaced worker is also a consumer. When they lose their job, they stop buying things. The company gets all the savings, but the loss of consumer demand is spread across the entire economy. If there are 20 competitors in a market, a CEO only absorbs 1/20th of the economic damage their layoffs just created. So every single rational CEO has a mathematical incentive to automate as fast as possible. They can literally see the cliff approaching, and they still step on the gas. It triggers an unavoidable Prisoner’s Dilemma. If you don't automate, your competitors will, and they will crush you on price. It doesn't just hurt workers. It destroys the businesses, too. The economy gets trapped in an automation arms race. Companies fire their workforce to stay competitive, until the entire consumer base is completely hollowed out. At the limit, the paper concludes: “Firms automate their way to boundless productivity and zero demand.” And the scariest part? The researchers mathematically tested every popular fix. Universal Basic Income? Fails. It raises the living standard but doesn't change the corporate incentive to cut jobs. Retraining? Fails. Worker equity? Fails. The paper proves that more competition actually makes the collapse happen faster. And "better" AI makes the damage worse. The only thing that mathematically stops the collapse is a targeted automation tax, forcing companies to pay for the purchasing power they destroy before they automate the job.

I’ve just heard a man breaking down as he described trying to save his home from the raging Inferno which engulfed Stourbridge, UK. Meanwhile, the UK PM meekly hopes he can “persuade retailers to temporarily stop selling disposable barbecues” The UK is dangerously unprepared for what’s coming.
