横浜にあるJ-POWER 電源開発社の最新鋭石炭火力発電所「磯子火力発電所」を視察させて頂きました。この施設は、何百万もの家庭や企業に安定した電力を供給している発電所です。視察当日は猛暑日で、夏季の電力需要のピークに対応するため、発電所はフル稼働していました！ J-POWERは1980年代から高品質なオーストラリア産石炭を輸入しており、現在は磯子火力発電所で使用される燃料の約60％をオーストラリアが供給しています。これは、日豪間のエネルギー安全保障パートナーシップの重要性を改めて示すものです。 J-POWERによると、最新のクリーンコール技術を採用した結果、磯子火力発電所は世界で最も環境性能が高く、効率的な石炭火力発電所となっています。 またJ-POWERは水力発電分野の主要な投資家でもあり、クイーンズランド州キッドストンにおける揚水発電プロジェクトにも参画しています。これはエネルギー安全保障の強化とクリーンエネルギーへの移行を支えるために、🇦🇺オーストラリアと 🇯🇵 日本が協力している素晴らしい一例です。 渡部 肇史会長、加藤 英彰代表取締役社長、草賀純男元駐豪大使、そしてJ-POWER職員の皆様に、有益なご説明と素晴らしい視察の機会をいただいたことに感謝申し上げます。 Fascinating to tour J-Power’s state-of-the-art coal-fired Isogo Power Plant in Yokohama, which provides reliable electricity for millions of homes and businesses. It was a scorching hot day and the plant was operating full bore to service peak summer demand! J-Power has been importing high-quality Australian coal since the 1980s and today Australia provides around 60 per cent of the Isogo plant's fuel—again highlighting the importance of our energy security partnership. As a result of employing the latest clean-coal technologies, J-Power says Isogo is the world's cleanest and most efficient coal-fired power station. J-Power is also a major investor in hydro power, including pumped hydro at Kidston in Queensland. Another great example of 🇦🇺 and 🇯🇵working together to strengthen our mutual energy security and support the clean energy transition.
