Over the last off-season, I did some thinking. Track & Field, being a semi-predictable sport, allows athletes, relays, and coaches to look at the data & get a range of marks they need to either qualify, score, or win at the state meet. I did the number work for you --a thread

Southeast Polk captures its fourth straight Class 5A state football title with a wild 38-35 win over Valley.
The Rams are first team (any class) to win an Iowa state football title with four losses in a season. SEP finished 9-4 & won three playoff games by 3 points.

IT'S HAPPENING!!!!!
Alex Cora, @RedSox manager, has announced that on Monday, Danny Jansen will substitute in for Reese McGuire at catcher (who is not on the current roster) for the resumption of the 6/26 game with the @BlueJays), meaning he will not only become the first player to play for both teams in the same game in MLB history, but he will catch the at bat that he himself started and must be pinch-hit for.
So there is a lot at play. Jansen is the batter that is at the plate when the @RedSox and @BlueJays game resumes, and he had an 0-1 count. Since the pinch hitter doesn’t inherit a 2-strike count, all action will be charged to the pinch hitter.
However, to make room for Jansen, the Red Sox DFA’ed Reese McGuire, who was the starting catcher in the suspended game, meaning there is a high probability that Jansen will come in to catch. (1/3)

I’d still prefer John McConkey on my team
Sources: Buccaneers and three-time Pro-Bowl OT Tristan Wirfs reached agreement on a five-year, $140.63 million contract extension that now makes him the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history. Wirfs was in the final year of a contract scheduled to pay him $18.24 million this year. He now is contractually tied to Tampa through 2029.
