There is no pro-Israel without pro-peace, pro-democracy. They are equally important and you will not long have a Jewish state without them.

The incitement against the 'NAZA' film in Israel (that almost no one has seen) is quite extraordinary.
Instead, look to the utterly reasonable words of @ricbenj of @NIFAustralia in @TimesofIsrael on how responsible democracies should handle such claims: blogs.timesofisrael.com/aust…

Joint Statement of the Foreign Ministers on the Two-state Solution

Israelis fighting their government's unchecked embrace of violence by settlers need our help to preserve life, human rights, and the two state solution.
Canada has answered their call. 🇨🇦🇮🇱🇵🇸
Israeli Human Rights Organizations Welcome International Action Against Israel's Settlement Project in OPT
We, Israeli human rights organizations documenting Israel's policies and their impact on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank including East Jerusalem, welcome the British government's decision to recognize and take action against Israel's ethnic cleansing of the West Bank, alongside the statements made by additional states.
This is an important and necessary first step to meet States’ legal obligation in response to the rapid expansion of the settlement enterprise, the systematic dispossession of Palestinians from their land and heritage, and escalating state-backed settler violence that can amount to torture. These developments are not sporadic; rather, they are part of a broader effort to drive Palestinian communities from their homes and lands and fundamentally alter the demographic and geographic reality of the oPt. Palestinian communities are being forcibly displaced through a combination of settler violence, land seizure, restrictions on movement and access to land, demolitions, and state policies that facilitate and entrench settlement expansion.
The International Court of Justice's July 2024 Advisory Opinion found Israel's continued presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory to be unlawful, as the UK adopted yesterday. It further affirmed that all States are under an obligation not to recognize as legal the situation arising from Israel's unlawful presence and not to render aid or assistance in maintaining that situation. Banning trade and economic activity that sustains or benefits the settlement enterprise is therefore one means through which states can ensure that their own conduct does not contribute to maintaining an unlawful situation or to violations of Palestinians' rights.
We urge the international community to take further concrete measures to ensure that its relations with Israel no longer enable Israel's settlement enterprise, forced displacement, and ethnic cleansing in the occupied West Bank, or its broader assault on Palestinian human rights across all territories under its control.

QUSRA UPDATE: Eight days into the siege, the settlers are still there, doing whatever they want. Israeli security forces can locate a person on the other side of the world, yet "somehow" can’t arrest a handful of settlers sitting under a shade sail.
It’s the fifth day of the siege of Palestinian homes in Qusra, in the West Bank. Now, the IDF claims it is launching an operation in the village to “protect the residents.” We have a couple of questions:
Dozens of settlers have besieged the homes for five days. Why didn’t the army stop them right away and instead chose to pray with them and stop journalists, activists, and ambulances trying to reach the family?
The settler outpost from which the perpetrators came was established in January and has been involved in dozens of terror attacks. Why isn’t this outpost evacuated?
The IDF has the capacity to impose a lockdown on entire Palestinian villages or even cities, demolish dozens of homes, uproot hundreds of olive trees, and forcibly displace tens of thousands of people. How come stopping a few dozen settlers from besieging a Palestinian family in a village where Israelis aren’t even allowed to be is such an impossible task for the army?
There is only one answer: backing ethnic cleansing is the IDF’s policy. The army had all the tools to prevent the siege from happening in the first place or to break it from day one. Instead, it took an active part in maintaining it, both in Qusra and in Jalud, where a family was expelled after a two-week siege in July. And now, under tremendous international pressure, the IDF is still failing to even pretend that it is trying to confront violent settlers.

Settler violence and military activity in the West Bank are aimed at annexing the territory and clearing it of Palestinians. The reality is horrific, but I draw a certain degree of optimism from the return of settlements to the northern West Bank. It is a reminder of one thing we must never forget: everything is reversible.

"Never before have such serious accusations been leveled against an Israeli government and the entire defense establishment, certainly not by someone who once held ultimate responsibility for Israel's security. But after a long and painful period of restraint, there is no choice but to say these things plainly and in full"

Among the settler organizations targeted for Canadian sanctions is Nachala.
I recently spent some time reporting on them and their dream of a “Greater Israel”…
theglobeandmail.com/world/ar…
Canada continues to oppose the expansion of settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. Today, together with Australia, France, Norway and the U.K., we announced coordinated sanctions targeting those supporting extremist settler violence against Palestinian civilians. As we impose this fifth round of sanctions, we remain committed to a comprehensive, just and lasting peace where Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace and security.

Thank you, Mr. Carney, for saying what so many liberal Canadian Jews are saying around our Shabbat tables: this Israeli govt is extremist and they don't represent us or the best of the Israeli people.
Today, I spoke with the President Herzog of Israel.
I reiterated that the appalling treatment of civilians aboard the Gaza-bound flotilla was unacceptable, and that respect for human dignity must be upheld everywhere, at all times.
I underlined the imperative of de-escalation in the Middle East, and the importance of a genuine resumption of dialogue among all parties. Progress toward peace and stability in the region must remain the clear, shared objective.
Today is Nakba Day and the day in which I think about the harsh and sad consequences of Israel's founding. I wrote this op-ed two years ago and it remains just as true now. It's not easy to think about, but it's important that we do.

We’re at Habima Square in Tel Aviv, protesting a policy of endless war, occupation, and state-funded settler terror. To secure a better future for all who live between the river and the sea, we must break the cycle of violence and end the occupation.

Please share. Let it be known that many Israelis are enraged by the Ben-Gvirite settler terror and the death penalty law, and that some of them are brave enough to demonstrate and face unprecedented police brutality in the streets of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

Canada joins its partners in expressing concern about the death penalty law passed by the Israeli Knesset that, in practice, systematically targets Palestinians. This discriminatory law adds to a growing list of actions which enables illegal settler violence while dehumanizing the Palestinian people. Canada unequivocally opposes its application. We reaffirm our commitment to human rights and the global movement to abolish the death penalty.

💥Former FM Livni: "A sovereign state has territory, one law for all, and a monopoly on weapons. Israel has no agreed-upon borders, there is no more equality under the law but a religious judiciary parallel to state law & armed & violent militias run rampant at will. The Israeli government is dismantling the State of Israel."
