I’ve not been won over by @guyverhofstadt in the past but this is a really strong and impressive speech - morally, practically and rhetorically - 👇(on why we are failing with sanctions)
Your strategy of incremental sanctions doesn’t work. Cannot work… That’s why 212 members of Parliament demand a special #EUCO meeting to decide on full sanctions immediately! My speech👇🏻

.@nepp_parking Hello. Is there a way of getting a reminder when my resident's parking permit is about to expire? I luckily remembered today that mine expired last night - but I'd rather not risk a ticket next year. Thank you.

I don't want to call it too early, but this looks pretty much like the US election result... #USElection #USElections2020
Just adding a fine photo. Back in a few months...
Unprecedented & powerful but essential. The Chief Rabbi is self effacing and apolitical but today @thetimes describes how #LabourAntisemitism comes from the top Corbyn faction and is a danger to us all. A new poison. Electionday is a moment when Britains soul is at stake.
"A new poison – sanctioned from the top – has taken root in the Labour Party. Many members of the Jewish community can hardly believe this is the same party that they called their political home for more than a century," writes @ChiefRabbi Ephraim Mirvis thetimes.co.uk/edition/news/…

Corbyn in front of the Home Affairs committee: "It seems to me very unfortunate, that you appear to have so much contact with people who have unpleasant views about Israel and Jewish people, would you accept that?" "No I wouldn't accept that." What does the evidence say? 1/9

That would be very sad - these are not just some of our best members of parliament - they also represent a very important tradition within the Conservative party
Re-21 Tory rebels. Downing Street confirms they have received letters from the Chief Whip confirming they have right to appeal expulsion. Government sources also briefing none of the 21 will stand as candidates at the next election for the Conservative Party.

I don't mean to argue the point, but just wanted to put my position on the record. I hope you do whatever is necessary to avoid a hard Brexit. It is, IMO, likely to be economic and social hari kiri. Signing off now.
Replying to @benlocker
I understand and respect your position on Brexit Ben but won't be joining Nick in making such a pledge.

Recommend reading Whistler's The Gentle Art of Making enemies. About when he got a farthing's damages from Ruskin for suggesting his work was without value or merit. Very good read.
'Why does it cost so much? You're only writing 150 words' 'Yes, but I'll reconsider each one of them ten times over before you even see my first draft'

Bravo from a Stamfordian. I hope you can convince my friend and current MP @willquince to make the same pledge.

#Colchester I saw this vile poster on Maldon Road. Ward councillor @LWHead (momentum) refused to vote to adopt the IHRA definition of antisemitism for @yourcolchester. Please ask him to condemn it and put his name to all-party efforts to condemn #antisemitism in Colchester.
