I made $40k off one memecoin trade.
Not my most ethical win, but here’s how I did it, and how you might be able to replicate it:
In late 2024, Pope Francis’s health was getting a lot of attention. He was 88. As much as I hoped he’d recover, I knew a new pope was a real possibility.
I researched the cardinals who could succeed him and planned to launch a memecoin for each one.
Then I found someone had already done it. The coins were around $20k market cap, so I bought the originals instead, since they were the most likely to run.
They dipped under $10k and I kept buying. I ended up with 5% of the supply of each cardinal coin.
I held for about 5 months. Then Pope Francis passed away and the coins started pumping. Polymarket opened a market on the next pope, and my coins were the first contenders.
The top two ran to $3-4M each and I sold into the hype. None of those cardinals became pope, but I was already out.
Now Pope Leo is reportedly having lung surgery. I’m praying he recovers, but I’ve bought back into the top two coins from last time. Both are still under $10k market cap.
