I just realized TERROIR’s credits don’t include a location manager. Normally, this would be a glaring oversight, but it was me, fam. I was the writer, producer, and (uncredited) LM.
I shot a wedding 10 years ago, and she still uses her portrait as her main Facebook photo. Maybe I’m good. 📸
The fact I can easily pronounce “Nahasapeemapetilon” means we’ve all gotta shape up for our ethnic minorities. If a character from THE SIMPSONS gets more name respect than people IRL, it’s time to change and take a step forward. Apu should not be your favourite Indian man. 🇮🇳
“Your place is only 1,000 square feet? I could never.”
Yeah, dude. You rent, and I own and house hack. I’d rather make money every month as a landlord than pay thousands to a landlord, capiche?
ONSLAUGHT: Supersoldiers vs. a trailer park. Low stakes and very few emotional beats, but some lines in the script gave me chills. Less gore than you’d think. ★★½
I believe it.

Richmond, BC is my home and I need to tell you about 𝐓𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐁𝐐. This place was 𝘶𝘯𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘥.
We’re talking duck blood, lamb dicks on skewers, brains, boozy juice boxes, and portions of beer so large, I’m not sure it was legal.
This was punk rock. Sad to see it go.
In film, I work for free all the time. At the indie level, you need to show your work. This is a different beast. We’re not chasing minimum wage. We’re showing what we can do on passion alone. I once catered, then a director hopped on TERROIR. I acted free, got an AD on BUTTONS.
I saw someone on here talking about how no one should ever work for free. They were talking about acting but I think it can equate to any film industry job. Look, while I know producers and execs are taking advantage more than ever, I just want to say that is insane advice.
I do work for free or dirt cheap all the time. Every "yes" from me boils down to at least one of four things: does it pay really well, is it for a close friend or someone I love collaborating with, am I obsessed with it creatively, or do I see a clear path how it could push my career forward. If one of those hits, I'm probably in.
I can pinpoint the VAST majority of higher paying gigs I've had directly back to a gig I did for free or for like $200/day. 90% of success in this industry is built on meeting awesome people and them realizing you are also awesome. This industry is all about stuff like that.
Don't get taken advantage of, but also don't immediately close the door on opportunities because of some made up rule.
Just sayin’, @jwalkermobile — I’m better kinda tipsy in my kitchen than every pasta restaurant in my city, and that’s not an exaggeration.
If you ever visit Metro Vancouver, give me a shout, and I’ll make sure to crack some Ripasso.
