The BBC published more than 100 articles, broadcasts and videos across online, TV and radio containing serious and false defamatory allegations about my husband and me, yet it has published or broadcast ZERO coverage of its High Court apology or the damages paid to our chosen charities. (1/)

While of course details of the settlement and apology are in The Times, Telegraph, Guardian, Daily Mail, PinkNews, Jewish News, Press Gazette, Deadline and others, it seems astonishing that the BBC across its many outlets would not have covered this. (3/

Correction (I make them): via a follower, BBC did cover briefly on the World Tonight on Radio 4. If you know of any other coverage let me know. The absence from the BBC News website- where the defamatory claim about surrogacy was published is the main mystery.

The BBC's apology and full retraction of false claims about my husband and me did nothing to cover the impact of the people who spread the BBC's false claims on social media, nor the impact it had on our family life, just months after we welcomed our son born through surrogacy. (1/

I note they knew exactly what a woman was when trying to hire female staff members’ uteruses.

During our routine parental order hearing at the family court, the magistrate commented on the negative impact of social media speculation relating to our surrogacy journey, and this followed extended investigations by social workers because of the BBC's false claims (2/

The BBC has deleted its own defamatory content about us, but the impact of social media means that once a false claim has been published, it is impossible to ever completely remove it from the internet. (3/

🚨At the High Court today, the BBC has withdrawn and apologised for false and defamatory allegations made about myself and my husband @DrAnthonyJames in 2024. We will be donating the compensation to charity. More to follow. thepinknews.com/2026/10/08/b…

Just to say- on Threads this birthday post for me and our son got nothing but love. Every post on this platform about my family ultimately results in homophobic, racist and ableist comments. I think that this tells me everything I need to know.

Dressed in 2020 vintage to look after Macaulay today as both Daddies have Covid As someone with MS on an immunosuppressant it was a more confusing process with the NHS than the height of the pandemic but I started antiviral treatment within 5 hours of a positive result

The process I went through: Letter from NHS a while ago said to call GPs, they said to call 111, 111 booked me an call with my own GP who then told me to call 111 back, eventually a 111 GP prescribed the treatment which my Mum got for me after phoning around 5 pharmacies

When I had Covid in 2022, I registered my result online in the evening and had a call the next morning to say that someone would drop the medication to me. This time was actually faster but a lot more steps and confusion.

For two decades Labour has celebrated that it repealed Section 28. It is worth remembering that Thatcher’s government introduced it following a campaign by its backbenchers including Jill Knight. In 2024 during a Labour government, we now see its backbencher posting this 👇

We are currently looking at nursery schools for our son for next year and one of the questions we have at all of them is how they handle explaining the different types of families

As a reminder for those asking: Our son’s surrogate was our friend who lives in the Midlands where he was born. Our egg donor was my sister-in-law who lives in Wiltshire. Commercial surrogacy is illegal in the UK 🇬🇧

Since starting my first company at 15, I’ve never really had any “time off” work. 26 years later, I’m eight weeks into paternity leave with our amazing son Macaulay. I will be going back to work at @PinkNews eventually but I’ll never be working quite the same again, now that my most important role is as a Daddy. Macaulay’s other Daddy @DrAnthonyJames has been doing some work but keeping me out of it so that I can immerse myself in being a father. Something I didn’t expect is that I’m actually having better sleep now despite all the early hours feeds than I ever got before! Here’s Macaulay aged exactly eight weeks at 12:17pm today 💙💙💙
