#aslashofblue exhibition opens tomorrow 4-8pm at the Gerald Moore Gallery, Mottingham, London. Paintings inspired by the poetry of #emilydickinson exploring the relationship between paint and poetry. Exhibition continues until 8th April.

Howard Carter’s largest known watercolour (1.2 x 1.3 m) was painted in 1894 when Carter was only 19 years old. It shows a scene from Queen Hatshepsut’s Temple at Deir el-Bahari of her father Thutmose I and his mother Senseneb. Very little is known about Senseneb. 🖌 EES ART.224

Today I got to see one of my favourite books, complete with the author's notes and scribbles. This is not just any old book in a glass case, this is the original manuscript of Far From The Madding Crowd at @DorsetMuseum and a tiny insight into Thomas Hardy's writing process! 💜📝

The likeness of a king. As the Royal Mint unveils new coins featuring King Charles III, here's the iconic representation of King Tutankhamun: a mask of solid gold. This photo was taken in-situ (1925), showing the mask as an integral part of the mummified figure of the king.
