I have an article and video on the ABC website today 😊So excited about this piece!
My article is sharing what it is like to live with chronic fatigue syndrome, and the video is of a poem called ‘Enough,’ about the impact of #CFS on my sense of worth.

We did a ‘stock and flow’ of our class culture, then created a word cloud of all the positives. Students are clearly loving their specialist science lessons!
Students loved SURF Maths’ Nearest to One, then we changed it to Nearest to Zero to practice subtracting fractions.
Most students estimated, some calculated, but again @MathigonOrg was so helpful for giving a visual!

We’ve just discovered the polypad on @MathigonOrg and I don’t know who’s more obsessed, me or the students! Brilliant visual for @reSolveMBI’s fraction benchmarks task.

This is a clear and great article about #AliceSprings, written by amazing workers at the forefront of services that are addressing key issues in the town.
Yeah we said it. Racism is the root of all of this. Needs-based funding now.

I've lived in #AliceSprings for 13 years & feel safe living here.
There are issues here, ones that have been around for a long time with deep, complex reasons for them.
What's happening now is sadly the same pattern we've seen for most of that time - reactionary responses (1/4)

I was on the radio this morning, talking about the magic of storytelling in mathematics.
The blog post contains links to the audio, the transcript, and to all the sources of inspiration for the talk.

A look at what we might mean by the term, and how it might shape our teaching of mathematics.

I wrote this piece #IThoughtYouSaidYouWereSick for @SelcouthStation on my experience with chronic fatigue syndrome.
It looks at what CFS is like, microaggressions that people with long-term illnesses often face & the necessity of compassion.

I almost didn’t introduce my class to ratio tables today (it’s nearly the end of the year/I’ve left it too late/I don’t want to confuse them with another strategy).
I’m SO GLAD I did. Some of my struggling students had light bulb moments and maths success!! 😍 thanks @pwharris
Hahaha one of my students posted this to seesaw after his 0.07 expected probability ended up at 0.2 😂

Thanks @matt_skoss for the PD this week - this was the perfect way to wrap up our probability unit, accessible to all students with some really deep thinking going on 😍
