When the lights go out in her village, one woman gets on her bike, grabs her safety gear and heads out to fix the fault, even at midnight.
Meet Jyoti Aher, a linewoman in Dhamangaon, Maharashtra, who climbs electricity poles, repairs faulty wires and handles transformers to restore power to her village.
Working with the state electricity department, she has spent the past four years doing a job traditionally seen as a man's domain.
As a child, Jyoti dreamed of joining the Army or becoming a police officer. When her height stood in the way of those ambitions, she found another way to serve her community.
Today, she is the person villagers turn to when the power goes out.
With her safety boots, heavy-duty gloves and tools, she is doing more than keeping the lights on. She is challenging the idea that some jobs belong only to men.

"My horse shoved me flat on my back today. I was ready to yell at him... I was carrying a bale and couldn't see the ground. He could. The rattler was about a step in front of my boots. He stamped until it left, and I just stood there holding onto him for a while.

Just 2 km from #ORR, home to corporate offices of @intel, @Google, @Cisco, @amazon & @SanDiskJP, this is the state of basic infrastructure in Bengaluru’s IT hub!
Even after a decade, the Centre, State Govt & especially @SWRRLY @GBA_office have failed to deliver a Railway Underbridge (RUB) that works in all weather conditions.
Bengaluru deserves better!
Looks like #Roadster has some serious competition now! 🚤

A woman had symptoms of acidity and heartburn. Doctors gave her general anesthesia and started to look for the cause by doing an endoscopy. A long parasite was removed from her esophagus.
Ascaris lumbricoides is a roundworm that can grow up to 35 cm long. People get it by swallowing tiny eggs from dirty soil or food. The eggs hatch in the intestine. Young worms then travel through the blood to the lungs.
From the lungs the worms are coughed up into the throat. They are then swallowed again and go down into the stomach. They finally settle and grow into adults in the small intestine.
Adult worms normally stay in the intestine. Sometimes they move upward into the stomach or esophagus. This can cause burning pain and the need for removal. – at Kakkodi, India
