It's hard to do school from home with a child also at home, and I often read a sentence or maybe even two and then get interrupted by my youngest. I've recently started reading my work aloud when he comes to me to ask for something and so far it's working!
5: Mom why do YOU do all the cooking? Like everything we eat?
Me: Well I'm home at daytime
5: But you even when you go to work you make the dinners
Me: Well... it's easier for me than it is for Dad
5: It's not fair for you to do ALL the cooking & not let Dad
Me: lololololol
It's funny how summer last for like 4 months and winter last for like 6 months and both spring and fall are only one month each.
Remember that year when our brand new and only car took a shit the day before Father's Day and you spent the day fixing it??
That, ladies and gentlemen is a flash forward of what we'll say in a few years about this weekend.
When I work at night my days consist of feeding the kids & dog, walking the dog, doing laundry & dishes & cleaning the house then I go to work.
When Im off I do all that stuff plus yard work and I gotta say...
There's not enough off in my off
I don't want a yard again unless we can afford landscaping. I don't thrive pulling weeds and mowing and edging.
The main reason line-drying isn't a big deal is that I wasn't putting those clothes away day of washing before anyway...
I have officially finished my first full year back in college at age 43 to become what I wanted to be when I was a little girl (a teacher).
I finish this year with straight A's and a LOT of pride <3
Some mornings are more frustrating than others. Tried three times to meditate for TEN minutes. Got interrupted every single time.
Last child and I know one day I'll miss being this wanted/needed but today is not that day
"Mom, does 'climb' have a silent E on the end?"
"No honey, it has a silent b. It's just another word that's an exception that you need to memorize"
"Just another one that didn't make sense?"
"That's right honey"
ten minutes of "me time" in the morning via meditation.
60 minutes "me time" in the afternoon via workout which is often joined by 5.
But one day my last baby will spend all his time with friends and little time with me, so for now, I'll take that exchange.
It's been almost 4 months since I went part time (for the last few months until 5 starts K) & stopped working overnight. We are able to pay our bills, we aren't hungry. It's def a challenge but my mental health has 180d & I wish I'd done it sooner.
Apparently if you're ten and under having the house with the parents that let you use the faucet outside to play in the water is the same as being the teenager with the car.
5 today: "North Carolina is like one of my 'go-to places' in life"
He also has made a "life list" of places he wants to visit. He made it based on the pictures on each state from the Melissa & Doug US floor puzzle.
I had no idea corn was that important to him

I'm going to be selling a healthy chunk of my jersey collection in the next month.
I'll post them up here if anyone wants a crack at them before I look to ebay.
Yes I want value but mostly I want them to go to a good home. Using this to fund the next chapter of life
I like how my property line is established weekly by either myself or my next door neighbor, depending on who mows first.
