Financial Fair Play was sold as a way to protect clubs from reckless owners. In reality, it tied what you're allowed to spend to what you already earn. Think about what that means. The clubs with the biggest historic revenues, the ones who'd been dining at the top table for decades, got to keep spending. Everyone else was told to know their place. Ambition from below was reclassified as a threat.
Look at the hypocrisy. An owner putting his own money into a club, clearing debt and building it up, gets treated as the villain. But an owner who buys a club with borrowed money and loads the debt onto the club itself? Perfectly acceptable. The Glazers took over Manchester United through a leveraged buyout, and that club has since poured well over a billion pounds into interest, debt repayments and dividends. Nobody drew up 115 charges for that.
Then remember who these supposed guardians of fairness actually are. In 2020, Liverpool and Manchester United pushed “Project Big Picture”, a plan to hand more voting power to the biggest clubs. In 2021, the same elite tried to walk away from English football entirely with the European Super League, a closed shop with no relegation. City were part of it too and withdrew, but the architects and the loudest voices came from the traditional cartel. These are the people lecturing everyone else about the integrity of the game.
Even the Premier League's newer rules haven't stood up. In 2024, an independent tribunal found parts of the Associated Party Transaction rules unlawful after City challenged them. That wasn't City escaping justice. That was a legal body confirming the rules themselves were flawed.
City were never the problem. City were the proof. Proof that a club outside the old establishment could be invested in, built properly, run brilliantly, and beat the aristocracy on the pitch. Academy, infrastructure, a city regenerated, a team that won everything. That's what they can't forgive.
These rules were never about protecting football. They were about protecting a hierarchy. And we will keep fighting them, in every forum, for as long as it takes. We are Manchester City.

🚨🇸🇪 Zlatan Ibrahimović on Premier League clubs celebrating Manchester City’s 115 charges:
🗣️ Zlatan: “I don’t blame them for celebrating these charges. (laughs) We are talking about a club that has traumatized almost every other club in this league for years. Pep came to the Premier League hearing everyone say it’s the most difficult league in the world, then he came and farmed the league like it was a Division Two league.
“He exposed them. He dominated them for years. So if they can’t win against Manchester City on the pitch, I understand why they are celebrating what is happening off it.
“But now they talk as if these charges were the reason Manchester City dominated. Like that was the main tactic City came with onto the pitch. Forgetting the beautiful football they played, how they controlled games and how they actually won those trophies.
“You can celebrate the charges, you can talk about them, you can wait for the verdict. But don’t rewrite football history. Manchester City dominated on the pitch. That is why they won all those trophies.”

Everton were penalized for zero sporting advantage while Chelsea paid a fine to protect their tainted trophies. Looking at that double standard there is zero chance a spineless Premier League delivers a fitting punishment for Man City’s near decade of dominance & trophy haul.
How come Everton’s points were deducted immediately and reduced after appeal? Why aren’t city’s points deducted immediately also, pending appeal….?

Sports Illustrated just chose this as their Sports Moment Of The Week with the title “King Is Born”. The photo depicts Everton’s Tyrique George scoring a viciously struck goal in their 2-2 draw against Man Utd at Everton’s imperious Hill Dickinson stadium on Sunday. VG.

"Chelsea are furious with Monaco after the Lamine Camara deal was called off, viewing it as an unprofessional way of doing business."
If only Monaco conducted professional business like being fined £10m and handed a suspended transfer ban after admitting 74 breaches of FA agents rules.
I’ve come to terms with being disappointed on match days and @Everton finding news ways to disappoint me.
But transfer days are just an added kick in the nads!
Love you Everton - it’s like Stockholm Syndrome 💙💙🥰🥰😘😘

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Football needs to reevaluate its rules on finances. Teams being forced to sell their best players damages everything that is good about the competition. It’s killing the hopes, dreams and ambition of every club except the elite.
It’s like a fly on the wall documentary for @premierleague @paddypower The Truth Searchers!

WELL DONE MILLIBAND JUST WONDERFUL!
Over a thousand wind turbines across Britain contain banned ASBESTOS in brake parts supplied by Chinese manufacturers .
The chrysotile asbestos banned in Britain since 1999 was found in lift and hoist brakes . A major and very expensive ( paid by the taxpayer ) clean up operation is now underway with costs expected to be substantial .
Not forgetting if any of those brake pads broke and the asbestos got into the ground the fibres don't break down they would stay in the soil for a longtime making the land contaminated meaning it couldn't be disturbed with digging or grown on . Dangerous stuff if airborne
The GMB union is demanding full details from the government .
Short mini break to celebrate 25th anniversary @British_Airways have kindly left our bags in London and Milan/Lake Como is very hot 🥵
Not the best start to a short break.
Let’s see if they can sort it as more flights heading to Milan today.

Hopefully come down on appeal but that is astonishing. Burnley have successfully argued that they were relegated because Everton breached spending rules by making stadium loan interest payments.
Richard Masters opened the legal Pandora's Box in 2023 and must resign over it now.
EXCL: The Lawyer can reveal that Burnley has won its legal case against Everton over Everton's PSR breaches. The Toffees are to pay Burnley nearly £40m in damages and interest. Everton is expected to appeal.

True dat, according to both Chelsea and the Premier League, signing Eden Hazard, Samuel Eto'o, Willian, Ramires, David Luiz, André Schürrle and Nemanja Matic on the back of unauthorised payments to agents gave Chelsea no sporting benefit on the pitch
The same panel that gave us 10 points have now delivered this new ruling.
The same original panel were actually criticised by the second panel when they adjusted the points deduction later on.
They made the rules up as they went along with no framework in place.
We've been punished financially and with a points deduction already. This is punishment number three.
How many times can one club be sanctioned for the same thing?
As we said before: Where there is power, greed and money…there is corruption.
