this is anecdotally just not true, it's not an obvious observation. i've been friends with trans women who are athletes who had been athletes in school who were looking for future opportunities as an athlete. they all transitioned super early and were incredibly normal.
It’s a fairly obvious observation, but I’m going to say it anyway. Normal well-adjusted trans women have zero interest in a professional sports career.
Who are the only trans professional athletes? Well, speaking frankly, it’s late transitioners, sexually interested in women, who tend not to pass very well.
Which is why a trans professional league would a. Not be able to assemble enough trans people to compete against each other. B. Would be an optics nuke.
Advocating for a trans league is something for non-trans people to do to feel better about excluding us. That doesn’t mean we should play in women’s sports, but we also shouldn’t be a circus for you to make fun of.
The way you treat us is bad enough. Don’t ask us to be torn apart by the right wing mocking us in a Colosseum to manage your feelings.
