Anyway, I spent the last 25 days building an experimental OS with AI coding agents.
x86-64, isolated processes, capabilities, persistent storage, networking, ssh. ARM64 and SMP experiments, too.
RC1 and source went up this weekend: absd.dev
Lord I am sick of talking about things, or worse, talking about talking about things. That's all you get over on blue twitter. At least here on classic, people are either entertainingly insane or building shit. Or both.
I always forget this place is mostly pay-to-play now, and it’s like, I do like playing, but I’m not really so keen on paying
One variable to rule them all, one scope to find them, one request to bring them all, and in the globals bind them.

I *hate* performing. I just want to *do things*. Everyone here says "you can just do things", and you can, but it don't pay the bills or get people looking at what you've done.
I posted this on the other place and I think like four or five people liked that post, so maybe if two or three people like here, I can get past counting on one hand. Not that it needs affirmation. It's an OS.
I'll probably keep working on it, because I think it's neat.
The inescapable tension between wanting people to look at what you've built and not wanting to call attention to one's self by using social media.
There's nothing quite like using something in production that you've actually written yourself to fully understand the limitations and coverage assumptions you've incorrectly assumed were there already
The Tao that can be documented in AGENTS.md is not the eternal Tao.
The process that can be qualified is not the eternal process.
The agent who knows when to stop does not open another issue.
It's really cool that all the techlibs fled to bsky, where blue tpot is now compariing luddism to the khmer rouge. That's exactly what needed to happen. Not, you know, social media being less of a cesspool. Two separate, mutually-compounding ones.
