If everyone truly gotten trapped into this being a rebuild he needs to steal minutes from Wells/Coward as soon as the season starts. He’s already ahead of both of them as a talent

Memphis Grizzlies | Iverson Reverse 5 Down
Through three Pre-Season games this is the other 'new' play we've seen. Popular in Europe this season
Uses the popular Iverson entry and ball reversal back to the Third-Side with a Pindown (instead of Top Spacing P&R sequence)

In 121 possessions as a pick-and-roll ball-handler, Ty Jerome scored 1.165 points per possession (3rd in the NBA among players with 100+ possessions here) and shot 51.0%(!) from three (1st in the NBA with same criteria).
Expand the sample? In Cleveland, Jerome generated 1.03 points per possession as the pick-and-roll ball-handler. He was 8th in pick-and-roll efficiency among players with at least 250 possessions as the pick-and-roll ball-handler.
Stoked about what he does in this starting PG role. One of the most efficient PNR creators in the association

Video of GG Jackson wrecking the game for a minute straight and multiple possessions in a row . Like what are we doing here?!!?!?!! Like what are we talking about?? We are seeing a player blossom right before our eyes. GG got into the weight room and I to the gym and dammit he has arrived.
He is absolutely better than Cedric Coward and Jaylen Wells. It's clear. This was not the case in November of 2025. GG Jackson has taken a TITANTIC leap. An even bigger leap he took at the end of last season. He's about to get paid. Like really paid. If Peyton Watson got 22 million a year, I know GG will get at least that.
GG Jackson took a leap last year and improved in every facet of the game on both ends. Outplayed a whole bunch of young people on the roster in the 2nd half of the year.
Even after all of that @DrewHill_DM & @ChrisHerrington are on their podcast talking about GG Jackson need to take a leap and show that he can affect winning in a winning environment. He needs to impact winning when he showed major improvement his 3rd year. I figured since you 2 cover the team that you wouldve known that he couldn't impact winning last year because they were tanking.
GG Jackson seemingly is the only young guy on this team that has to earn his place while every other young guy has a spot cemented. Y'all are already putting Jeremi Grant, a vet and a 20 point scorer on a playoff team last season, on the bench because that 3 spot is already cemented. That's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes I guess.
Speaking of a contract year, GG would be a damn fool to re-up with the Grizzlies instead of seeing what is out there as a free agent. I'm certain he would find a starting gig out there if he has a great year. 6'9/6'10 243 lb athletic combo wing forwards are hard to come by in this league. Especially when they are just 22 with 4 years experience.

Ty Jerome 16 PTS (5-8 FG, 4-6 3P, 90% TS), 4 AST, 1 REB, 0 TO, +16 in 14 minutes vs. Bulls
Big year incoming for him this season

Keeping an eye on the different ways the Grizzlies continue to use Cameron Boozer. Bulls switch this pick and roll, Boozer immediately goes to the post. Draws help on the spin, kicks it out and now it's ball movement for a 3.

Another solid showing from the Grizzlies. You can see the direction this team is heading in from a foundational standpoint. Ty Jerome was impressive.

"I think it’s a great thing. We have had some battles already, playing together, and seeing the amazing season he had at North Carolina. I think we are just gonna push each other throughout our careers. That is an amazing thing to have: a friendly but also wanting to compete and dominate."

“Cameron Boozer brings all the ingredients for being a future franchise player — smarts, talent and youth. Should he fulfill the expectations, the Grizzlies will ultimately and gradually build around him, but first things first. Boozer will be given every opportunity to show growth and the ability to dictate the outcome of games.”

Ty Jerome has been one of the most insane per-minute scorers in the NBA for two years and now he’s going to get a TON of minutes…
S-tier touch. One of the best shooters in the league, period. Can’t wait to see what he does with a huge role.

Have to share this example too because you can see the progression back into Wing Spacing after all the Options are denied
Benefit of Boozer in Wing Spacing is the defence will often have their worst guard defender on the Second-Side and Wing Spacing is often switched

With @memgrizz announcing Isaiah Stewart (ankle) will be reevaluated in 2 weeks, the progress Zach Edey is making is even more essential during the preseason.
Iisalo addressed Edey’s role in tonight’s game against the Bulls as he looks to build on Wednesday’s debut:
