If true, Ledger should sue the pants off these guys. If CryptoBilis sold tampered devices as real Ledgers, that is almost a guaranteed breach of the reseller contract and misuse of Ledger’s name. Telling customers the hardware was genuine is fraud. Ledger can also sue for the damage to its brand and any money it has to pay victims. The secrecy deal does not save the new owner. A confidentiality agreement does not cover fraud. If the buyer took over the shop to swap in bad devices, Ledger can sue that owner too, not just the old Malaysian company.
