✈️ WATCH: Israeli Comedy Show Eretz Nehederet Turns Flydubai Terror Attack Into Hilarious “Fauda in the Skies” Parody Featuring Hero Israeli Plumber Israel’s Eretz Nehederet has given the Flydubai hijacking ordeal the Fauda treatment. Its sketch, “Fauda in the Skies,” draws on the story of Yaniv Hayoun, the Israeli plumber who helped thwart the attack. Comedian Eran Zarachovitz impersonates Lior Raz as a plumber turned action hero, calling for wrenches to overpower the terrorist. Then, in the middle of the airborne rescue, he announces that he needs to get a part from his car. The show promoted the spoof with a suitably reassuring caption: “The skies have never been safer.”

Are the Giants a good team? We may not know the answer to that for a while. The better question may be: Does it matter? The Giants are in the midst of a seven-game stretch against teams with a combine 7-26-1 record. They have an opportunity to stack enough victories to win a flawed NFC East for the first time since 2011: nytimes.com/athletic/7694728…

These idiots don't realize that rent controlled buildings are already trading at - effectively - the option value of a future mayor rolling back rent control.
These landlords should be charged vacancy taxes until it is so expensive to hold onto the property that they are forced to sell. If these properties went up on the market there would be a line of people willing to put in the sweat equity to make the places livable.

John Harbaugh on Dominic Zvada "The first thing is the obvious, and the thing you coach the most is the technique. So, it's like any other position. There's a technique to it. And when you watch the misses, the technique is not the same as the makes. And you can see it, and you just go through that. I think that's the most important way to coach it" "It had to do with his plant foot. We're not going to go through kicking technique, are we? (Laughter) It had to do with his plant foot. I feel like you're testing me." Attached his 3 misses then his last 4 made FG's from 50+. Anyone in the kicker world able to spot the issue? @lt4kicks @adamvinatieri @GrahamGano @RobbieGould09

One thing missed in a lot of the discourse around Tisch is how she came into the job. She was brought over from Sanitation under pressure from Hochul to run the PD following Eric Adams' indictment. She quickly reined in the corrupt cowboys running the department.

I'm outraged by the firing of Dylan Skolnick from the Cinema Arts Centre, which he transformed from a major local institution to a nationally recognized one. I've read the Newsday and IndieWire reports and think that the board is looking for pretexts for firing him; I wonder why.

Quite astonishingly, I don’t think this story received enough attention. We’ve reached a point where a delegation of about 100 Jewish preschool educators, many of them American Jews from across the US, were subjected to a political purity test simply to attend a professional education program in Italy. Reggio Children, an institution internationally celebrated for its approach to early childhood education, demanded that they distance themselves from Israeli policies. 1/4 >>>

The Biden admin fully ended any sort of theory of mind that there's a direct relationship between doing good/popular stuff and approval from voters. That's no longer the case. The Biden admin did a whole host of things voters claimed to want (and that polled incredibly well) and nobody gave a shit.
Starting Oct 19, the Trump administration is rolling back Biden-era airline passenger protections, and airlines will no longer have to provide stranded passengers with meals, hotels, or other assistance for delays or cancellations.

One survivor who came to speak to us at our local synagogue was someone who was trying to keep the Jewish sabbath holy.. was trying to be more religious, so for a year before the 7 October, she left to stay with more religious relatives with her kids to observe it there. The kibbutz was not a religious place. So for a year, every friday, she would pack her bags and leave with the kids. On the Simchat Torah festival that year, October 7, she had decided she didnt want to bother any relatives as she felt she didnt want to infringe on a Holy Festival, so she made the decision to stay at home. Hers was the only home on the kibbutz not affected…. Not burned to a cinder…Not one terrorist came to her door. Why? Because on the maps they found, made by the ‘innocent’ Gazan workers, they found a big red cross through her house. This was because the workers presumed that as usual she would leave the home to go spend shabbat with relatives and no one would be in the house to rape or murder. So the demon terrorists didnt waste even a second of their massacre time on an empty home.

Holy shit, I did not know this but it explains the speed at which Hamas moved, all of that intelligence and clearly years of planning. 💔

BREAKING: Jewish Parsons student sues the school after she was spat on, shoved, blocked, and the school allegedly promised the assailants that it wouldn't call the police. In one incident, Shabot was trying to get into a sewing studio, when protesters blocked the entrance. She "watched as non-Jewish students were given access to the building." "When she begged to be let in and said, 'I just need to go to the sewing studio,' they taunted her with, 'do the children in Gaza have sewing studios?'"

Jesus, I've never seen an interview like this! 🤯 Watch the whole thing or at least read my notes: 1. Yaniv was sitting in Row 11, not Business Class. He heard a woman up front yelling “Stabbings!" (She didn't say who.) Yaniv immediately stands up to see what's going on. 2. Wife & daughters are sitting around him. Then the plane starts shaking. Plane rolls very sharply leftward and back to horizontal in a terrifying way. 3. It hits him that the commotion isn't a fight in Business Class, it's happening in the cockpit. 4. He yells “Buckle up!” and runs toward the cockpit. He's 6 feet away from the cockpit when the plane suddenly nosedives. 5. It felt like it nosedived for an eternity. (In reality about 30 seconds at 30,000ft/min, reaching speeds of about Mach 0.96. Those 30 seconds of nosediving cut the plane's altitude in half.) 6. “I was flying.” He was blown around upward, sideways, he was pressed against the floor extremely hard. (A 180lb man would effectively have 540lb of downward force on their body as the first nosedive leveled out.) 7. “I kept trying my hardest to get up off the ground. At some point, I was finally able to, when the plane leveled off a little.” He speculates that a system kicked in to automatically stabilize the plane. 8. He goes to the cockpit door and there's a crew member in a white shirt, who looks like he's also a pilot. He's grabbing the cockpit door with both hands, with his body leaning down. I didn't know if he was trying to open the door, or trying to hold the door closed! 9. “I get to him, I move him away, he doesn't resist. I open the cockpit door — it was a little difficult because the pilot was lying down on the floor behind it, the one who was attacked.” 10. “I went in. The terrorist was crouching with his knees on the instruments between the two pilots' seats. There was no one in the pilots' seats. He was hitting the instrument panel, trying to break the equipment.” 11. Yaniv yells “Come help!” to any other Israelis who are also in the aisle. He doesn't know how many there are because his back is to them. 12. Yaniv immediately grabs the terrorist by the throat and starts moving him away from the controls. The terrorist resisted, but Yaniv's struggle to get him out of the cockpit only took a few seconds. 13. A handful of men who'd already gotten up from their seats together with Yaniv were already standing in the aisle dividing up responsibilities among themselves. They take over subduing the terrorist. 14. Yaniv turns back to the cockpit controls. At this point, the plane isn't nosediving, but it's still angled downward. He looks out the windshield and sees ground in the distance. 14. He leans over the pilot's seat, grabs the yoke and pulls it upward. He feels the nose of the plane come up. 15. A few seconds later, a pilot (not an Israeli) comes up behind him and says “Release the controls, I'll take it.” 16. Yaniv wasn't sure whether the other pilot was trustworthy, but he said “ok” and let him sit down at the controls. He intended to supervise the new pilot. 17. Yaniv turns around and briefly helps the men who are dealing the terrorist blows to subdue him, since apparently the terrorist is still resisting. Eventually the terrorist stops resisting, he possibly gets knocked unconscious, and the men tie him up with headphone cables. 18. Yaniv also helps the men remove the wounded Indian pilot from the cockpit. Then he goes to close the cockpit door with himself and the replacement pilot inside. 19. At this point, a member of the flight crew arrives at the cockpit door and wants to come in. Yaniv asks the replacement pilot whether to let the crew member in. He says yes, he's with us. 20. The flight crew member comes in. He has a tablet with a map. Yaniv closes the cockpit door with the three of them inside. He latches it. 21. Now Yaniv is focused on checking that the replacement pilot and the crew member are acting properly to land the plane. He sees that the pilot is talking on the radio to ground control. It sounds good to Yaniv, even though he doesn't speak much English. Yaniv can tell he's reporting that there are injured people, that we're heading in a certain direction, and that he's requesting help. 22. Some of the other Israelis were assigned to guard the rest of the flight crew. At this point, they feared that the whole crew could be conspiring. This is why the entirety of the stressful incident was about 40 minutes long. They couldn't relax until they landed and the flight crew got off the plane. 23. When they landed, one of the Israelis on the plane bought eSIM cards with a data package for everyone. As soon as they get reception, he gets a bunch of messages with pictures of himself on international news. 24. The landing was an incredible celebration. Singing, what fun we were having. 25. Let's rewind. You wake up in the morning before getting on this flight. Did something prepare you for this engagement? Something in the army? Some instinct? “Well, in the army, I was working the closest to the fire in the kitchen. (I wasn't a cook, I'd, you know, get the food and divide it up.)” 26. Yaniv personally didn't feel scared to board the second FlyDubai flight they sent. What are the odds lightning would strike twice? “Even being in this situation once was like winning the lottery.” 27. Did FlyDubai offer some kind of compensation for the incident? Did they contact you at all? “Nothing.” 28. Will you fly again? “Fly again? Sure.” 29. When are you going back to work? “I want to on Sunday.” What an interview. Makes me proud to be Israeli.

³ Now, let's look at how they respond to the IDF's key criticism that the "interviewees addressing the IDF's targeting process are described as having served in intelligence roles" and that their accounts of the targeting process "generally focus on limited, initial stages dealing with intelligence, rather than the much broader process of planning and approving strikes", yet "the film treats these accounts as though they establish decisions ultimately made about strikes" - including whether any particular proposed strike was approved and carried out at all. The Guardian counters that portraying the 24 participants as junior-ranking officers involved only in the early stages is false, saying they included personnel with experience across intelligence, operations and final authorisation. However, the Guardian's own coverage repeatedly framed the film specifically around intelligence personnel. For example, its very first film review headline referred to "Israeli intelligence officers" and the review itself further talked about "disillusioned Israeli intelligence officers and personnel", while the headline of another interview described NAZA as a "film about Israeli intelligence". Moreover, in that interview, Abraham even goes so far as to explicitly attribute attack authorization to intelligence officers who supposedly "order another strike" even when they know the house is full of children. This exemplifies precisely the key confusion identified in the IDF's response - the conflation of intelligence analysts' role in identifying and assessing targets with operational commanders' authority to approve strikes. Needless to say, the Guardian's response doesn't even try to address this fundamental misrepresentation. Returning to the question of who the interviewees were, the filmmakers' own description in +972 was somewhat more nuanced: "Most of them were intelligence officers, working behind screens." This more careful phrasing allows for *some* participants to have had broader experience, but does not establish how many of them actually had such experience or who supplied the specific disputed claims about later stages. This brings us back to the IDF's criticism, which concerns the participants' actual accounts, not simply their backgrounds. The Guardian's response tries to deflect by making a broad statement about the interviewees' roles as a group, without connecting specific roles to specific testimonies or claims. That leaves the core question unanswered: which of the film's most outrageous allegations came from people with actual first-hand knowledge, and which came from people who, based on their own accounts, appear to be intelligence personnel repeating hearsay or offering their speculations about decisions they did not directly witness?⏬

"But it's so simple! All I have to do is divine from what I know of you-- are you the sort of man who would choose a hotter picture when she's 17? A clever man would choose the picture in which she's less hot, because only a great fool would reach for what is in front of him, so I clearly cannot choose the picture in which she's less hot. But you must've known I'm not a great fool, you would have counted on it! So I clearly cannot choose the picture where she's hotter." "You've made your decision then?" "Not remotely! Because Watson was born in Paris, as everyone knows! And Paris is entirely peopled with nonces, and nonces are used to having people not trust them, as you are not trusted by me, and so I clearly cannot choose the picture in which she's hotter." "Truly, you have a dizzying intellect." "Wait til I get going! Where was I?" "Paris" "Yes, Paris. And you must have suspected I would've known Watson's origin, so I can clearly not choose the picture in which she's not as hot." "You're just stalling now" "You'd like to think that, wouldn't you!"
Here's two pictures of Emma Watson, one when she was 17, and one when she was 18. Choose carefully which one you think she's attractive in. The penalty is death.
