While I was looking for something today, I found an old cheque book which included a stub for the first time I went to @JoeAllenWC2 40 years ago tomorrow night. Wonderful memories!

Flood warning for me and my neighbours. The local farmer has chosen to fill the local fields with maize this year because “it’s financially more viable”. That’s fine when fields are level but they are all on hills so a downpour risks water running straight off with the soil too.

Can anyone identify these 2 bottle brands! I found lots of them washed up on a beach on Islay last week during my holiday when I collected 18 sacks of plastic. I brought 3 sacks of it home to display and use in my talks about single use plastic. Our oceans have had enough!

While lots of people were watching the match, 2 people thought it would be a good opportunity to break into the local NatWest bank at 01:45 in Minehead! @bbcsomerset @CountyGazette

I see some schools have decided to start late on Monday morning due to the football. What’s going on? Children need routine to help them in later life but since the pandemic, it seems to be one thing after another causing disruption to their education.

Not surprising at all. People were so upset about it.
The Environment Agency has dropped its threat to prosecute litter pickers over alleged environmental offences while clearing rubbish from a London River. It comes after Channel 4 News recently exposed legal threats made to Paul Powlesland and other volunteers for undertaking clearance work without a permit. The East Londoner claims he took action after authorities failed to clear rubbish from the River Roding. While the Environment Agency said it won't pursue a prosecution, it has continued to warn against future rubbish clearing activities, something Mr Powlesland has said he will ignore unless he's given a meeting with the organisation's chief executive.

I found +1000’s of these pieces of soft plastics washed up on the overnight tide. Can’t work out what it’s from but only visible from a certain angle on the beach. @sascampaigns @Feargal_Sharkey

I normally spend more time on my sand art but I’m having to spend too much time on clearing up cans, bottles, wet wipes, broken beach toys and much more. Roll on colder days! @bbcsomerset @bbcweather

There’s a Red health alert for heat today. However, there’s also a red alert for our environment as people visit beaches, parks and countryside where they think it’s acceptable to leave it as they wouldn’t want to find it. @BBCNews

5 years ago this week, in incident in my job as a school caretaker changed my life and seriously affected my mental health. A year later, I chose to leave to survive. Litter picking and starting my business improved my health but I’m cross they didn’t support me enough…

…eventually, I had to put myself in debt to pay for professional counselling and I chose to gradually get myself off the medication which I stopped completely 14 days ago. I now feel ready to talk publicly for the first time what I’ve kept inside for too long. #mentalhealth

Why do so many people think it’s acceptable to leave beaches covered in litter? This weather is no good news for our coastline. @bbcsomerset
