the intimacy of sleeping together, but not in a s*xual way. the intimacy of feeling the warmth of their body in a cool room hugging you tightly. the intimacy of synchronized breathing. sleepy half-kisses. feeling safe. feeling warm. waking up and realizing how much you love them.

Ok hear me out: instead of all of us having to become extremely knowledgeable on a new infectious disease every 3-6 months, what if we got a large group of experts together and just put them in charge of giving us easy to understand health recommendations. They could also do things like track outbreaks and predict future concerns.

Every time a woman summons the courage to speak publicly about her assault hundreds of thousands of other women relive theirs. It is a horrifying death by a thousand cuts. And still we persist, even though it wounds us, holding onto hope that it might end the violence.

People don’t always understand how much another person can change you mentally and emotionally. You can walk into someone’s life loving, happy, trusting, and full of life, then leave questioning everything about yourself. Now you’re more guarded. You overthink. You have a hard time trusting. You notice little things you never paid attention to before. And people are quick to judge the person you became without knowing what you went through to get there. Sometimes a person isn’t bitter or difficult. They’re healing from being broken down by someone they once felt safe with.

A woman having sex to avoid sulking, tantrums, passive aggression, guilt-tripping or abandonment is not consenting—she’s being coerced. That’s not a relationship. That’s sexual servitude under emotional duress, and far too many women have been conditioned to believe this is what compromise looks like. It’s not.

Emotional maturity is the ability to hold two truths at once. Growth doesn’t come from black and white thinking, it comes from learning to sit with complexity. Saying someone is “showing their true colors” when they act out of character is a lazy narrative. It dismisses the fullness of who a person is and ignores the reality that people are layered, evolving, and sometimes reacting from pain. Grace, accountability, and discernment are meant to coexist.I know this intellectually and spiritually but it still doesn’t override the nervous system. As much as I can understand someone’s behavior, hold space for complexity, I still fear people when certain lines are crossed and will stay away. It would really be up to the person how badly they want me in their life and if they are willing to fight like hell for my presence.

The more self-regulated you become, the more you realize that communicating your feelings isn’t an emergency. You can sit with it. Sleep on it. Let the wave pass. You don’t have to rush into expression just because the emotion feels loud. That’s why, days after you’ve said your piece and it spirals, you replay it. You think of what you should have said, how you could have said it, or you cringe because you realize you didn’t need to say anything at all. You just needed time.

PSYCHOLOGY FACT: Wen a woman keeps solving everything alone while in a relationship, her brain stops seeing her partner as safe support and starts seeing him as dead weight once that switch flips, attraction quietly fades no matter how much history they share.

Ngl, I have huge respect for men who unfollow their past flings or talking stages when they’re in a new relationship. I randomly saw my old talking stage pop up under ‘people you may know, turns out, we’re no longer following each other and he already has a girlfriend. And you know what? I’m actually happy about it. That’s how it should be. No hard feelings, just respect. Some girls might call it ‘bitterness’ or ‘insecurity,’ but for me, it’s growth. A real man chooses loyalty, and boundaries.

I'm an actual romantic. I want it all. Corny letters, long paragraphs professing ur love for me, dates, handholding, everything! I hate the normalized idea of bare minimum I want a reckless love story. I want to be loved loudly & unapologetically. None of that half-hearted energy

My coworker told me something about her brother, and it’s honestly disturbing. He had sex with his wife just three days after her C-section while she was begging him to stop because she was in pain and bleeding. He didn’t stop. She died. And then he was at the hospital crying like he wasn’t the reason she was even there.

Men: "Child support isn't fair." Also men: "Abortion shouldn't be allowed." Also men: "Condoms don't feel good." We found the problem.

a household full of yelling, fights, judgements and accusations is suffocating. you don’t get to tell them what's wrong and you don’t get to tell them what you really feel, you just simply stay silent. because you think staying silent may fix everything and day by day it slowly kills you. some parents listen before judging their child's situation, their ears are ready to listen and they simply close their mouths — to let their child know that they are safe to speak and to open up about things that are hard to put into words. and maybe we all need that kind of parents, a kind of parents that listens before judging your situation. and a household that is ready to understand, to correct calmly, to listen and to speak without throwing hurtful words. they say, a house must be a home you will run to when everything feels heavy, a comfort, a place where you find rest. but true question is where do we find that kind of house? a house that feels like home.

manipulation is when they always play the victim by blaming you for reacting to their toxic behavior, but never discuss their disrespect that triggered you.

A lot of men say women "expire" at 25, the age our prefrontal cortex fully develops. It's almost like they're terrified of a woman who can think clearly, set boundaries, and smell their bullshit from a mile away.
