guys, it's ok to just use a loading spinner or one of those progress indicator bars across the top of your site
design eng tip for skeleton UIs: ask your agent to measure the loaded UI with Playwright then match the skeleton's sizes and positions to prevent layout jank

see, it's fine.

the github CLI is probably the most used cli in the world right now, getting absolutely hammered by ai agents at all times of the day

Such a misleading chart. It's showing "10TB stored, 50TB served", but then silently adding 20 million write operations and 500 million read operations, which of course your R2 bill is going to be $412 lol. Both railway and R2 cost the same amount for GB stored.
I benchmarked 5 object storage providers from 6 locations around the world I included: - @awscloud S3 - @Cloudflare R2 - @Railway Buckets - @Backblaze B2 - @neondatabase Storage It used Files SDK to make it as fair as possible Here's a summary 👇 (this is also a thread)

if only he knew how simple it could be.
No disrespect to this gentleman, but I just don't get how anyone can post this kind of stuff nowadays. I think I'm too far gone. This level of inefficiency makes my blood boil.

One day Anthropic will stop forcing magic link sign in every 3 days, switch to passwords, and save themselves millions of dollars a year in send grid fees.

i don't get these arguments because you can use ai and still make program b. you just need to put in effort and make sure it's not bad. Which is what you would have had to do anyway when writing the code by hand... put in effort to make sure it wasn't bad.
let's say there were two pieces of software for accomplishing a task that you do semi-frequently: program A is open source and vibe-coded. it's a bit rough around the edges; you run into bugs occasionally, and once in a rare while you have to open up claude code and fix them yourself. the UI isn't great: it's full of LLM-isms and can be a bit confusing at times. it gets frequent updates which often include pointless UI changes, and gets tons of new features that you honestly rarely actually end up actually using. but, you can always fork it and have claude make it better fit your tastes. program B is a one-time purchase and made by someone who deeply cares. the UI looks a little bit dated and it definitely has a small learning curve, but once you understand how to use it, it feels like a well designed tool, with lots of intention put into every design decision. you almost never run into bugs, and when you do, they're rare edge cases that the developer fixes promptly. it definitely has fewer features than A and gets updated less often, but you very rarely run into situations where it doesn't have what you need, and almost every update is a genuine QoL improvement. would you be willing to pay for B? if so, how much?

don't shit on someone else's website when your landing page looks like the most ai generated slop of all time the total lack of self awareness lol
I just tried the nomads website of Levels and god is that site badly made. Reviews in Mexico are 3 years old and most sound terribly entitled. I have no idea why some builders have so many followers when their products simply suck. Do people simply believe what is posted here and never try any of the products?

“Ai cant write code” Proceeds to use ai to generate replies lmao
Replying to @theo
Fair. 90K LOC isn't a small app. But that's exactly why I used it as the example. My point was never that 90K lines is “small.” And for sure AI can write this amount of code. The question is what happens when the system becomes complex enough that you need someone to understand the architecture, the business logic, the dependencies and the consequences of a change. And the reality is that a lot of guys out there do not have a clue about all this software engineering tasks, so it all results in a mess. If AI can eventually handle all of that reliably without experienced engineers, I'll happily admit I'm wrong. But we're just not talking about the same thing if your argument is simply “AI can maintain 90K LOC.”

If you make $100,000k a year in Canada the government will pay you: $374/m *per child* under 6 $268/m *per child* 6 and over Seems like a giant waste of money giving families making $100k/yr money like that.
