For the olds this reminds me of how RIP bbs graphics would draw stroke-by-stroke as they downloaded.

The original ‘damn this game is a vibe’ 🏝️
'OutRun' was released in Arcades 39 years ago this month in Japan.

Everyone seems in awe of vhs package design (which is rad) but you gotta remember… blank tapes are hella boring so you have to art them up to make them interesting. Imagine shelves on shelves of these:

The first time I saw nba jam in an arcade was mind blowing. 4 players, fast paced action, announcer screaming “he’s on fire!!!!” at the top of his lungs.. Then the reality that every game cost 4 quarters (even if you won) sunk in 😭😭😭

I fall into this trap so often. Sets insane expectations. I’m going back to the time where the internet was just for fun, exploration, and curiosity.
One unfortunate way to kill your motivation to do great work is to always require pursuing some project you're curious about on the basis that it must also become a business soon too.

Probably a stupid question but.. if we are using llm's to write code, why are they bothering with anything but assembly language? 🤔

In my late teens / early 20’s, movies became the way I learned about the world. I studied how Heath Ledger got the girl in 10 Things I Hate About You. A few scenes still hit in my 40’s. Touching someone this deeply still feels like a life goal to me: youtu.be/j64SctPKmqk?si=s-ZA…

I’m very diligent about committing changes to git until.. I kick off a huge refactor with cursor 🙃🤦‍♂️

Really starting to monitor what gives me energy and what drains me. I get so much energy from creative acts (singing, playing music, djing) and get drained quickly when I'm in my head.

Trying to imagine a world where tools like Cursor get an order of magnitude faster. Like returning a request in 1 second instead of 30s-1m. It's going to be insane.

One day I'll have a successful one-shot prompt->product. One day 😢

One benefit to trying to build super small apps: I'm terrible at figuring out what the hart parts will be. Building a tiny desktop youtube player with tauri and who knew that my standard 'press ctrl+s to take a screenshot' debug tool would require hours of bugfixing.

Not sure if it's gpt5 or sonnet but one of them tried to rickroll me 🧐

Sometimes you just gotta be your own cheerleader.

Still convinced the ultimate skill anyone who spent time in tech can build is awareness of your body and feelings.

Torn between being excited to vibr code every day and wanting to feel. Running cursor or Claude code is still hella ‘head’ activity and doesn’t feel creative or heart-centered.

Always frustrated when I re-activate my x account and it takes weeks for any of my tweets / replies to show up in peoples timelines :/

Can we talk about how SF2 had the coolest title screens?

TIL cmd+ctrl+shift+4 will let you grab a screenshot of an area you define and copy to clipboard (not save to desktop) !
