Ten years ago today. In just the last few days: Trump made a deal for the U.S. to buy Russian diesel, an economic lifeline for Putin; he and Elon Musk blamed each other for an order that slowed down Starlink satellite connectivity over Ukraine, hampering the country's defenses during a devastating Russian attack; and Trump waived sanctions on Russia that Congress, led by his late friend Lindsey Graham, had pushed for. Now, Putin has proposed a summit with Trump and Xi to decide Ukraine’s fate for them, bulldoze a century of international cooperation, and frame Russia as an equal to the U.S. and China. We’ll see if Putin’s puppet continues to dance on his strings.

Ladies and gentlemen, start paying very close attention to every detail of what happens. We are currently living the introduction section of a future history book's WWIII unit. It's now likely too late to avert.
The Black Sea will be safe again. Two F-16 from the Romanian Air Force shot down two aerial drones that entered our airspace without authorization over the Black Sea. The military informed that the first drone entered the national airspace at 17:59 and was shot down within 2 minutes, 25km SE of Sulina. The second drone, in the same area, was engaged and shot down at 18:05, 4 minutes after entering the national airspace, 20km E of Sulina. The Black Sea serves as a critical maritime artery for the global export of grain, energy resources, and industrial commodities, making its stability vital to international food and energy security. We have briefed our Allies and EU partners. Our military has prepared for an increased intensity of hybrid interference and will continue to prioritize air defence and maritime security. At Romania’s initiative, we will have a dedicated meeting of the North Atlantic Council on Tuesday to discuss Black Sea defence and deterrence. Romania and Bulgaria are in close contact at all levels for increased coordination and accelerate operational steps towards the establishment of the EU Maritime Security Hub in the Black Sea. @vpetrova_mfa @MFABulgaria

@CookPolitical just moved our race from Solid R to Likely R. National analysts who considered Oklahoma a safe Republican win are reconsidering. That’s a significant shift, and I’m grateful to everyone working to make it happen. With 3 weeks left, help me keep earning votes. Knock doors, make calls, and talk to your neighbors.

A must-watch exchange between Brian @kilmeade and Rachel Campos-Duffy on FOX & Friends about Ukraine and Trump’s Russian diesel deal. Here’s the full transcript: CAMPOS-DUFFY: I know you're a big fan of Zelensky, but yesterday President Trump said maybe it's time for an election and a new leader in Ukraine because Zelensky keeps blowing up these refineries after the president said, "Please don't do that," especially before the midterms. He keeps doing it, and it's hurting President Trump and the administration, who's been very generous toward him and his war effort. KILMEADE: The president got ticked off because Zelensky came out and said, "Do not buy 5 million tons of diesel," which is in violation, I thought, of the bill they just signed, Lindsey Graham's bill, that says if you buy any energy from Russia, you're going to get sanctioned with tariffs. Are we going to tariff ourselves? So I have no idea. Zelensky's frustrated because now all this money is going to flow into Russia, which started this whole war unprovoked. They are the bad guys, and there is no way Zelensky turned down any plausible deal. In fact, since that time, when they told him he was going to lose the Donbas, he has gained back portions of the Donbas. CAMPOS-DUFFY: Are you saying that there were no peace efforts? KILMEADE: There was no plausible, practical peace effort that Vladimir Putin would participate in effectively that would end this war. There's one person who is responsible: Vladimir Putin. That is it. And he gets his ass kicked. CAMPOS-DUFFY: There was a peace deal that—I think Turkey was trying to broker it, and Boris Johnson advised Zelensky not to take that deal. KILMEADE: It doesn't matter. I don't know what Boris Johnson's doing now. Is he in a retirement home? CAMPOS-DUFFY: I think there's a reason why the president is buying diesel from Russia, and that's because Zelensky keeps blowing up the refineries. KILMEADE: Can you blame him? That's the war machine that's killing his people, that bombs apartment buildings. CAMPOS-DUFFY: But he's dependent on us, and the president said, "Don't do this." Are you for America or for Ukraine? KILMEADE: The diesel fuel got stopped because Iran was blowing up the Gulf states' oil and their refineries, and now all of a sudden there's a new emphasis on Russia. But for me, the way Ukraine innovated drone technology in order to take out what's fueling the Russian war machine is phenomenal. They'll be writing about this in war journals forever. The Ukrainians have modernized modern war before our very eyes. CAMPOS-DUFFY: I'm not so sure that's a positive, Brian. I mean, there are 30,000 young men on each side who are dying every single month. KILMEADE: Vladimir Putin. CAMPOS-DUFFY: Every single month. We should not be practicing drone technology and using these kids as guinea pigs. KILMEADE: What kids? CAMPOS-DUFFY: The soldiers. These are young men… KILMEADE: Rachel, these are in response to attacks. They're getting rocketed, so they found a way… CAMPOS-DUFFY: The president said he wanted peace in Ukraine, and he said he was going to do that. KILMEADE: Tell Vladimir Putin. CAMPOS-DUFFY: Well, now, because of what Zelensky is doing, we're probably going to get peace there because President Trump is now working with Russia, because Zelensky is so arrogant. KILMEADE: It would be the biggest mistake of his administration to work with Russia. That is the modern Hitler of our generation. He is the cause of all the problems in the region, and now he's helping Iran kill our guys and blow up our bases. And now, yeah, the story you pointed out to me today in The Wall Street Journal—you see that they and China are providing drones to the Houthis. China and Russia are the problem.

Schmitt is now going with "I was just asking questions." But that's also untrue. Schmitt falsely claimed that he had a "series of text messages" that said Smith had attended the Warriors-Hawks game. And he had his staff make up a cheesy poster board displaying the texts (which didn't say anything about a Warriors-Hawks game). Schmitt was not just asking questions. He was making false assertions about Smith and about the texts he had, all while accusing Smith of perjury. He's just a dishonorable guy.

Sen. @ElissaSlotkin: The authoritarian playbook is very clear. When you're at risk of losing, you either A, make up a threat that only you can protect people from, or B, find a way for federal law enforcement or the military to seize ballots or voting machines. In Hungary, Orbán used Plan A. In the run up to election day, we need to be alert and ready. If you hear in the next 34 days that there is a new security threat that you've never heard of, that somehow requires federal law enforcement or the military and not local police, an alarm bell should go off in your brain. Do not let him get away with that.

At the same Dallas speech excerpted here, Vance named two women, one born in Somalia, as the face of Medicaid fraud, a 46 million dollar case. He did not mention Lawrence Duran, who ran a 205 million dollar Medicare fraud scheme, the largest of its kind at the time, and was sentenced to 50 years. Trump commuted that sentence, wiping out the 87 million dollars in restitution Duran had been ordered to repay. He also did not mention Robert Harshbarger, husband of sitting Republican Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger, pardoned last November after pleading guilty to distributing unapproved Chinese kidney dialysis drugs as FDA approved medication. Independent estimates put the total restitution and penalties wiped out by Trump's healthcare fraud pardons somewhere between one and two billion dollars, money owed to Medicare, Medicaid, and the patients those programs cover that nobody is getting back. Vance picked the immigrant for the speech and skipped the numbers that actually move.

🚨 OBAMA ON AI: "If we are thinking about AI just in terms of how do we cure cancer or get better energy, you can do that without having agentic AI and having it just roaming free in the internet. The reason you are doing that is because you have to market a product that people will pay money for. That’s a misalignment between what our society needs and the commercial imperatives that these companies are facing, not because necessarily they’re trying to do bad things, but because they’ve got to justify these valuations. So, that’s one more reason why it is really important for us to have a competent government and a serious bipartisan conversation around this issue, and we have to do it fast. And I would encourage voters to pay attention to this. If somebody does not have a serious plan for how to deal with this, then they’re not meeting the moment, and you should probably look for somebody else."

Sony writes like a poet but with substance; great quote from his post below:" The Empire ate the Republic"
There is something almost classical about watching America's decline through Trump. The Greeks had a word for it: hubris. Followed, always and without exception, by nemesis. The country that told the world it was the "indispensable nation." The country that maintained 800 military bases in 80 countries. The country that redesigned the global financial system in its own image at Bretton Woods and then spent eight decades using access to that system as a weapon against anyone who disobeyed. The country that called this "freedom." Now watching its own cities rot. Its own bridges collapse. Its own citizens die of preventable diseases because the money that should have built hospitals and schools and water treatment infrastructure was spent maintaining the architecture of global domination that was supposed to make America great. The empire ate the republic. It ate it from the inside, slowly, over decades, diverting every resource toward the maintenance of power abroad while the foundations at home quietly failed. And now the republic is screaming at the wreckage and calling the scream a plan. Hubris. Nemesis. It arrives on schedule. It always does.

Wow!! JFK FUNDED the Kennedy Center himself! "Beatty has served on the Kennedy Center Board since 2019 when she was appointed by then Speaker Nancy Pelosi. When Trump came to power in January 2025, he filled the Board with Trump sycophants and even named himself the Chairman. Since he couldn’t remove Beatty, he had his Kennedy Center Board literally try to silence her at the key meeting in December 2025 discussing renaming the Kennedy Center after Trump. At that meeting, Beatty was joining via phone. She soon realized her comments and objections could not be heard because Trump’s team had muted her. From there, the Board voted to rename the Kennedy Center after Trump. The next day Trump’s press secretary had the audacity to say that vote to name the Center after Trump was unanimous. Just four days later, she filed a lawsuit against Trump—with the legal assistance of Democracy Defenders—to reverse the name change. The lawsuit argued that the Center was named by Act of Congress and only Congress can change the name. She is 100% correct. As a brief history lesson, in 1958, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed bipartisan legislation creating a National Cultural Center in the nation’s capital. However, it lacked funding and the project languished. That was until President John F. Kennedy committed in 1962 to raise $30 million to construct it. Kennedy even organized a star-studded 1962 televised fundraiser featuring, among others, conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein, poet Robert Frost, musician Harry Belafonte and 7-year-old cellist Yo‑Yo Ma. At that event, Kennedy spoke powerfully of the importance of the arts, “As a great democratic society, we have a special responsibility to the arts, for art is the great democrat calling forth creative genius from every sector of society, disregarding race or religion or wealth or color.” The Center was never intended to be named after Kennedy but after he was assassinated in November 1963, Congress and President Lyndon Johnson enacted legislation to honor him. The Center was then designated as a living memorial to President John F. Kennedy recognizing his devotion to the advancement of the performing arts in the United States." This Black woman—who Trump tried to silence—is why the Kennedy Center is still standing! deanobeidallah.substack.com/…
