Congratulations, Dr. Ninette Thiart on obtaining your PhD. Her study revealed the potential of especially several time-related and non-linear HRV measures to gain more insight into the time trial power outputs and the gas exchange thresholds of endurance athletes. @PhASRec

Fat oxidation is greater during the mid- (MF) compared to the early-follicular (EF) menstrual phase. Previously, researchers showed that the follicular phase is best for training adaptations. Opening the debate again – phase-based training in women. ow.ly/AazN50GUBlV
So if people must be vaccinated to fly, it means the variant was carried by vaccinated people. So much for the vaccinated that can not spread Covid.

Exercise Progression to Incrementally Load the Achilles Tendon pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3265… Loading Achilles tendon enough: Seated heel raise load = 0.5 x bodyweight; forward single-leg hop = 7.3 x bodyweight. Lunges, step-ups, and step-downs good asymmetric movements for loading.

Interesting reading. An article that found that cold water immersion (CWI) during recovery from resistance-type exercise lowers the muscles’ capacity to take up and direct dietary protein-derived amino acids in healthy, recreationally active males. physoc.onlinelibrary.wiley.c…
1 Pound Butter = <1 gram cholesterol = 960 milligrams. At most we absorb 50% (say 500 mg). To satisfy needs. our livers/brains synthesize, on avg, 1500 mg day. DO THE MATH! You'd have to eat 3 pounds butter daily to turn off the body's daily synthesis of cholesterol

Genes do make a big difference in determining sport performance. We probably all know it, but this article really provides the proof.
Anaerobic speed reserve (ASR) seems to be an important performance indicator for middle distance runners. Definitely something to consider.
Pretty cool international project ongoing with @Gareth_Sandford in the area of #anaerobicspeedreserve. Check it out speedreserve.net/what-is-spe…
The food industry will probably refute this claim but I think it is more accurate than we would like to admit. Money is more important than people’s health or wellbeing.
Modern human food is actually worse. At least dog food is formulated for complete nutrition. Our modern processed foods are formulated for taste and addictive qualities, usually with little (or no) regard to nutrition. Why do people continue to eat this trash?

Attended keynote of Stephan Seiler at LTMIC. Again proof that the majority of training must take place at low intensities if endurance athletes want to perform optimally. HIT sweet spot seems to be above anaerobic threshold intensity level.
Has been out for a while but definately worth while to look at this when working with endurance athletes: Seiler's Hierarchy of Endurance Training Needs
