A child in war is horrific. We should all want the killing to stop. But that doesn't erase what Hamas did on Oct 7, or them hiding behind their own people. "Free Palestine" takes from a stadium feel more disingenuous than courageous to me, like a performative slogan. It's gross.

Inspired heavily by @mattshumer_ and his Claude code prompting, I’m working on “DASHBOY” my nod to the classic “paperboy”, but in this version you deliver papers, (not official) Amazon packages and food deliveries. Music is my own too. The coolest part is my kids being able to test it out. What a time to be alive and be a creative!

Hell has gates. Gates don’t chase you down, they hold a line and wait to be kicked in. That’s the promise in Matthew 16. The gates of hell won’t prevail because hell is playing defense and we’re the ones advancing. We’re not called to hide, or to survive. We’re Attacking. So let’s live like it. Confident in Christ. Love your wife and kids hard. Forgive quick. Pray harder. Speak the gospel like your life depends on it, it does. Live in the victory Jesus promised. Stop retreating. Start advancing. Kick the gates in.

My 6 year old and 7 year old are talking on walkie-talkies as one catches fireworks from their room and the other from downstairs. These are special moments and I am very grateful. Our dachshunds absolutely hate all of this though.

We spent our Friday night with our whole fam hitting a sonic drive-through for slushies and shakes and then watching fireworks from the roof of a parking garage. We focused conversation on the drive home with the kids about how privileged we are to live in America and even now this morning, I feel so thankful. I pray for our nation and what it looks like for the future generations, Proverbs 13:22 reminds us of the importance of what we leave to our children’s children. But today - I’m just thankful to be an American. Happy 4th!

This is such a non-sensical insult of a post. I don't know anything about @dandarling but just a simple glance at his post - "Masculine" = Not preening about it online. Okay, scripture frequently warns us against pride. No issue there. Ordinary dads who take their family to church after working all week. Okay, 1 Timothy 5:8, provide your family. No issue there. Early risers who read their bibles and point their kids to Jesus. Ephesians 6:4. Definitely no issue there. Dan has described a scripture-based practice for fathers - Biblically, I can't find any fault in it. I don't think Eric can either which is probably why he insulted this man's physicality. If any young men are observing all of this, take note that the contents of Dan's post do in fact lead to a faithful masculinity per the guidance we find in scripture. You won't, however, find a scripture that justifies using your platform of influence to shame a man based on his body fat in the style and manner that @eric_conn has done here.
Dan looks like a manatee. His excess body fat creates an ecosystem of high estrogen, which is why he acts like a hysterical woman. “Real men [insert a bunch of stuff single mothers, Lesbian Subaru drivers, or a grandma can do and would cry about]…”

Marcus Aurelius was half right in the sense that chasing human remembrance and approval is ultimately empty. But we cannot stop there. We need to fear God, not man, and then our lives will have eternal weight. Paul speaks of eternal weight in 2 Corinthians 4:17-18. And in Matthew we’re told not to fear those who can kill body but not soul, rather fear the one who can destroy both body and soul in hell.
Marcus Aurelius was right. You will be forgotten. So stop performing for people who will also be forgotten.

Proverbs 21: The [king]'s heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; he turns it wherever he will. [President] [Your boss] [Judge] [Hiring Manager] God is in control.

The thing you can complete is rarely the thing that actually matters, and the thing that matters is never actually complete. I’ve been reading Nehemiah this week. One big takeaway I’m sitting with, We pour ourselves into the wall…the launch, the rebrand, the building, the system, the app (whatever it is) because the wall gives you a finish line and a photo. It feels good. Culture, formation, the slow and actual changing of lives, the stuff that grows real and tangible fruit…It falls apart the second you stop tending it. The ending of Nehemiah should scare us a little bit, but only into action that leads us to going and tending the thing that won’t stay built.

I honestly find it more surprising the amount of white suprematists who claim to be Christian on this platform than the Mormons identifying as Christians. Wild. And they’ll make a super racist posts and people will just like it and be commenting on it like it’s normal. Wild. White supremacy and racism are absolutely incompatible with the love of Jesus Christ and void of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. As a society - we should condemn it. As Christians - we should denounce it.

For the LORD God is a sun and a shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

It matters, but probably not in the way most people talk about it. A woman’s body count isn’t some scorecard that determines whether she’s worthy of love, marriage, or God’s grace. Every one of us has sinned and fallen short of God’s standard. The ground is level at the foot of the cross. At the same time, it’s naive to pretend our sexual history has no impact on us. Just like a man’s ongoing porn addiction would create real concerns for a godly woman considering marriage, a history of casual sex leaves its mark. Both are departures from God’s design for sexuality: one man and one woman, joined together in covenant for life. Scripture teaches that sex is more than physical. It creates a one-flesh union. It’s spiritual. When sex is repeatedly separated from covenant, it can leave behind baggage that eventually shows up in marriage: comparison, insecurity, trust issues, emotional attachment to the past, or difficulty fully bonding with a spouse. That’s why we should be teaching our sons and daughters to see sex the way God sees it. Not as casual recreation or personal exploration, but as something holy, powerful, and reserved for marriage. None of this diminishes the power of God’s forgiveness. In Christ, forgiveness is complete. The old life can truly be washed clean. But forgiveness doesn’t always remove every earthly consequence. Some wounds take time to heal. Some patterns take time to break. So when a godly man cares about a woman’s sexual history, that isn’t automatically judgment. In many cases it’s discernment. He’s trying to determine whether the foundation for a healthy, lifelong marriage is there, or whether there are years of hurt, baggage, and healing that still need to be worked through
Not only does it not matter, but no adult actually asks these questions in real life.

In my prayer this morning, I felt such repentance for being a part of an American church who didn’t do enough to be invited to this couples table before their decision was made. I love the church, God loves the church but man, we have to do better at meeting people where they are and showing them the holiness of God and the love of Jesus to prepare them for their crisis, not just in response to it. The same God who formed that child in their womb is able to raise up a church that meets lost couples in their fear before the decision, so that the next viral post exploding on here might testify to redemption instead of rebellion. “He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.” (1 Thessalonians 5:24).
This week, my wife and I made the very difficult decision to terminate the pregnancy due to Trisomy 21. The choice was not made lightly. We really appreciate all of the personal stories that you guys shared with us, especially the unconditional support we received from fans with no matter what we decided. I know some of you may be very disappointed to hear this news. We are devastated. This has been extremely traumatic for both of us, especially Ashley. She underwent the procedure earlier this week and is on the mend. Thankfully, everything went smoothly, but emotionally we are drained. Trisomy 21, also known as Down Syndrome, is caused by an extra chromosome. It is caused by an error in cell division, like a glitch. The odds of a baby having it is 1 in 1000. When I first confronted this news, I was shocked but optimistic. If they’re a little slow intellectually, then we’ll make it work. I signed on to be a parent, come what may…but I just didn’t fully understand what Down Syndrome entailed. Once we made it public, it became clear that MOST people don’t know what Down Syndrome entails (and no, it’s not the same as Autism): 50% of babies with DS have heart defects. 75% will have hearing challenges. Over 50% will have vision problems. Impaired immune function, developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, delayed physical development, poor muscle tone, structural issues with face, decreased lifespan, etc…Sadly, the list is long, feel free to look it up…Down Syndome isn’t a “blessing”, it is objectively shitty from a health perspective. I didn’t realize just how rough it is for the child, let alone the family…more often than not, they would be fully dependent on others for the rest of their life. The miscarriage risk is also close to 50%, which made matters worse…they may never see the light of day and it puts Ashley further at risk. We spoke with doctors, friends, family and genetic counselors and learned that up to 90% of women terminate their pregnancy after learning the baby has Trisomy 21. This was WAY higher than I expected, I thought it would be lower given that I hear so many say they kept or would keep the baby. I believe that’s because most terminations happen privately, it feels shameful. A lot of judgment being cast. You never think you’d be in this type of situation until it happens to you and then things change. To all of my fans who have weighed in on this topic who have Autism, Down Syndrome or any other conditions…we appreciate you. You matter a lot and we’re glad you’re here. I commend you and your families for having the strength and courage to push forward. As for us, we made a difficult decision that we believe in the long-run will be beneficial for our family. Thankfully, we had a choice. It will take a little time to move on, but we are excited to try again in the future and hopefully have a better outcome. Love you guys & thank you for understanding. ❤️

This may be a staged video (it probably is lol) but it’s a modern day parable with a God-breathed reminder. Hear me out. How many times in life are we sitting with positive intention just focused on whatever we have planned for the day, when God comes in and interrupts our workflow by offering something new. And in the process, we are given the freewill to respond however we see fit, not knowing that all the while he has something so much better to offer if we’ll just wait to see it through. I can go back and see times where God wanted to give me something better and I fought him, resisted him and not only did it cause pain in me and those around me but it delayed goodness and peace in my life. The older I get, the more I’ve learned the value of waiting. Staying quiet and seeing the situation through. I want a heart that flips “God, why are you doing this?” for “God, I can’t wait to see what you’re about to do.” Harder in practice than in posting but this video really illustrates it in an easy to digest way.
She is the definition of being chill 😌

A lot of stones thrown in the comment section here. Righteous and justified stones, but stones nonetheless. Lift your eyes today, church. The harvest is white. See broken people as Jesus saw them when he walked the earth and how he sees them today. Broken and in desperate need of a righteous reprimand. Nope. In need of a savior? Yes. Thank God we know one, may he be seen through you and seen through me.

I love that this Lilly Tino person doesn't like this. The devil is a liar, and demons still tremble at the sound of the name of Jesus. Sometimes major discernment is needed for things that Christians are called to encourage/discourage in modern culture. Other times, it's easy and plain to see. I pray more businesses declare John 3:16 in this country. This is the gospel and until all have heard - keep shouting it from the rooftops (or the fast food package).
Lilly Tino doesn't like that In N Out puts Bible verses on their products. "They put a bible verse on my food without my consent. I don't want to eat John 3:16" Ir's simple, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Continuing this #pride month to encourage us all to reject all pride in your heart. Sincerely ask God to search your heart and identify all areas that pride and arrogance have taken root and ask him to remove it. Seek humility through repentance and watch revival happen.
