Many Christian’s are moved by a number of Democratic Party policies relating to a number of different issues. One that comes to mind immediately is poverty and hunger. Jesus teaches direct action, active generosity, and special care for children and the vulnerable. Right now in The United States of America:. 34.5 million American’s live in poverty 6.8 million American families live in poverty 14.1 million American children go hungry everyday So, as you can imagine, I was devastated when Republicans passed the Big Beautiful Bill seeing as it: — Removed 1.5 million children from SNAP benefits — Excluded 4.5 million children from Child Tax Credit benefits — Cut free and reduced school meals for hundreds of thousands of children — Increased significant strain on food charities and food banks The Democratic Party’s platform wants all of God’s children to be fed and nourished. They want to expand the Child Tax Credit, guarantee universal free school meals, and protect and strengthen federal nutrition programs. They also want to invest in universal pre-K, cap childcare costs and increase minimum wage to support hard working American parents. Jesus made caring for the hungry and vulnerable a core part of loving God, calling on anyone with extra to share rather than hold onto their wealth. Well that’s not what the wealthy in our country do. They make billions, and now trillions, and 14 million kids go with empty stomachs. To Him, helping people in need wasn't just a good deed—it was the true test of living out your faith. And voting democrat is the progressive Christian’s way of living out theirs.
