👤 You once said that, more than winning awards or setting new records, what matters most is the feeling that “Stray Kids did something that was truly Stray Kids.” 🥟 Exactly. To be honest, I feel like we’ve gone back and forth a bit in recent years. We wanted to become even cooler, so we searched for new colors, tried to find compromises, and went through a period of feeling a little lost along the way. But I also think that going through that period of uncertainty is what has allowed us to do so many different things today. Our latest release, THIS & THAT, is a song that embodies that sense of pride. Now, we’re going to stop worrying about what others think and simply do what we want to do and what we know we’re good at. When we released God’s Menu, it was a completely ridiculous song at the time, wasn’t it? It was playful, and the lyrics were funny, but we performed it without cracking a smile. The performance was provocative, too. It was truly a gamble. But looking back, I think there was a sense of desperation underlying it all — the feeling that “If this doesn’t succeed, we’re done for.” We had been stuck in a situation where we couldn’t seem to reach the next level for a long time, so everyone’s expectations, excitement, anxiety, and everything else came together and poured out through that song. It’s a story about that desperation.
