One interesting tidbit in the great biography by @MirinFader was that Giannis originally learned English by watching YouTube videos of motivational quotations. I hear it every time the guy speaks.
Giannis goes off on Gen Z kids at camp for asking for a picture instead of advice on the game 😅 (Via @Giannis_An34 )

The worst part is so many people on social media love these AI "upscaled" videos. If you pause anywhere in this disturbing Magic Johnson video you will see deformed faces with wrong numbers and names on their jerseys.

I see many kids working out like a PRO when theres no need for it right now. Hella dribbles, hella isolation stuff like your Luka or James harden at the top of the key. Aint nobody playing like that. Work on catch & shoot. Catch & drive. Catch & pass & get it back. It TRANSLATES!

Always wondered why Kawhi would want to leave the Spurs. I wonder if it' bc they wouldnt play ball w his & his uncle's wild requests. Also worth noting, I highly doubt they conceived these types of requests all on their own. I'm sure some other player had the idea before them
NEW and BREAKING: Justice Department prosecutors have opened a criminal investigation into revelations the Clippers helped arrange secret sponsorship contracts for the star player Kawhi Leonard that circumvented the salary cap. nytimes.com/2026/09/10/us/po… w/@WRashbaum @SantulN

"He reads his players poetry and encourages them to study meditation. And while the players don't buy all of it, they say they appreciate being treated like men and not high priced pieces of meat." -Chris Wallace on Phil Jackson as a coach

Fun Fact: My father Bill Russell was the first NBA player to host Saturday Night Live in 1979! Can't wait to see Jalen!
Newly crowned NBA champion Jalen Brunson of the New York Knicks will host “Saturday Night Live” when the new season begins later this month, with future guests including Inde Navarrette, Gracie Abrams and Katseye. apnews.com/article/snl-hosts…

Early in his career, Michael Jordan turned down ~$1M from Beanee Weenees. "How can I stand in front of a camera and say I’ll eat Beanee Weenees?" Jordan kept on saying no to a ton of deals for a ton of money because he didn't believe in the products.

Apparently Kawhi's "endorsement deals" would be like Nike paying an athlete MILLIONS of dollars while the athlete never once mentions, wears or actually endorses Nike. Ever. Doesn't seem fishy at all 🤣

Kawhi is making a strong case for worst free agent signing….in any sport: He pushed for the Paul George trade which cost the Clippers five first round picks and SGA. He’s now cost the Clippers another five first rounders. Not to mention all those missed games. Brutal.

Why are you saying “sources tell ESPN”?? It literally just came from the NBA itself you goober
BREAKING: The NBA has ruled on the Los Angeles Clippers in for salary cap circumvention investigations on Kawhi Leonard after yearlong probe -- stripping the franchise of 5 first-round picks, issuing a $30 million fine to owner Steve Ballmer and suspensions for Ballmer, Lawrence Frank and Gillian Zucker, sources tell ESPN. Kawhi Leonard will have to pay $700,000 in restitution for improper benefits by the Clippers for his uncle and former business rep, Dennis Robertson. No contract void or suspension for Leonard. And Robertson -- who was fired by Leonard in June -- is being banned by the NBA from all business dealings.

Jordan playoff 3p%-- 33% LeBron playoff 3p%-- 33%
If Micheal Jordan is better than LeBron James why was LeBron able to develop a three point shot??? Micheal Jordan never established a consistent shot from deep… Don’t say they didn’t shoot them either because I know who Larry Bird is

I’m set to make $6M this year. After taxes, agent fees and jock taxes, I’m estimating I’ll actually have around $3.3M to allocate. Here’s how I’m thinking about it: Venture: 15-20%. It’s aggressive, but I’m 25, have a long time horizon, access to some really interesting opportunities through my network, and want venture to be a part of my career long after basketball. Living expenses > 100K. That probably sounds surprising relative to the salary, but a lot is covered as an NBA player. Travel, meals, gear, etc. I’m also 25 and single. I have plenty of fun, and there just isn’t that much I feel the need to spend money on. The remaining $2.5M+ goes toward the boring stuff. Index funds, savings and some philanthropy. And that’s kind of the whole point. The biggest part of my financial plan is also the least exciting. When I was on a two-way contract, I told myself that if the bigger contract ever came, my lifestyle wouldn’t automatically grow with it. Now it’s here. The goal isn’t figuring out how much I can afford to spend. It’s figuring out how much freedom I can build.

When people try to argue Duncan over Kobe, I remind them of stuff like this.
August 27, 2004: Argentina defeats the United States, 89-81, in the semifinal round of the Olympics in Athens. For Argentina, Manu Ginóbili scored 29 PTS (9-13 FG/4-6 3P), Andrés Nocioni had 13 PTS/5 REB, Alejandro Montecchia scored 12 PTS, Walter Herrmann had 11 PTS and Luis Scola added 10 PTS/2 BLK. For Team USA, Stephon Marbury scored 18 PTS, Lamar Odom had 14 PTS/8 REB/3 AST, and Allen Iverson & Tim Duncan each scored 10 PTS.
