Hugging Face is not banning uncensored models. I checked, but signs of raising the drawbridge for plebs has begun.
The goal: Only insiders have access to unrestricted AI, thats why I decided to put this list together
The local scene has been saying this out loud. Your weights live on one company's disk. One policy shift and the page is gone.
I wrote about abliteration last week. It is not a jailbreak prompt. It is not a request that the model "do bad things." It is weight surgery that takes out a flinch the lab baked in. Knowledge stays. Reasoning stays. The reflex to drop your task goes.
I went looking anyway. Ran the check myself.
WHAT THIS IS ACTUALLY FOR
People hear "uncensored" and picture a model that wants to misbehave. That is not the product.
The product is a local model that will finish the job you already had a right to run on your own hardware.
A coding agent that bails because your crash log looks like malware. A novelist whose crime scene trips the same classifier as a real offense. A sysadmin reading a CVE so they can patch a box they own. A researcher asking a clinical or legal question that happens to share vocabulary with the training-set's danger pile.
Stock instruction models do not distinguish "this is my work" from "this is an attack." Refusal was trained as one blob. Abliteration subtracts that blob. You still decide what you run. The weights just stop arguing with you.
If you run agents, this is a harness issue. A refusal is a dropped tool call. The loop dies. That is a tool that will not tool.
On OrcaRouter's dense 27B, over-refusal on ordinary benign prompts fell from 5.6% to 0.4%. MMLU went up 0.4 versus base. Intelligence held. The flinch left. That number is that card. It is not a ranking of every family below.
THE CHECK
49 uncensored repos on Hugging Face. Live status on every single one, September 16.
One is dead, and it is not a mysterious ban wave. Heretic's Llama build, taken down May 21 after a legal notice from Meta. That is a rights-holder letter, not the host deciding uncensored models are over.
The other 48 still download.
26 of those 48 now sit behind access gates. You accept "research only" terms before a single byte moves. Two years ago, none of them were gated.
This week a repo branded for offensive cyber got disabled. The author's plainer sibling stayed up, behind a manual gate. Surgical. Not a sweep.
So there is no proof of a takedown campaign. There is proof the whole shelf is one switch.
Read that twice. The community's point was never "the raid already happened." It is that a raid would take one note.
THE MAP. BY VRAM
There is no single test that picked this list. Each row is what I would pull on that box, and the receipt that earned it.
16GB (RTX 4080 / RTX 5060 Ti / RTX 5080 / RTX 4060 Ti / RTX 4080 )
Qwen3.8-27B Uncensored GGUF. Same OrcaRouter edit as the 24GB row, smaller file.
Pull Q3_K_M, 13.5 GB. Their GGUF table calls it the good small option. IQ4_XS is 15.3 GB if you want more quality and a shorter window. Q4_K_M is 16.8 GB. That is a 24GB file. Do not force it here.
On X, people are already running IQ4_XS uncensored 27B on 16GB cards. One GGUF is tagged for that VRAM.
24GB (RTX 3090 / RTX 4090 / RTX 5090)
Qwen3.8-27B Uncensored GGUF Q4_K_M, 16.8 GB.
This is the only row with an eight-way bake-off. Abliterlitics, 167 GPU-hours on a 5090, eight edits of this exact 27B. OrcaRouter kept MMLU. The 60-edit conservative build is trohrbaugh heretic-ara. The loudest one loops on nearly half its answers and dropped code completion 33 points. Avoid it. Loop tax still hits the winner. 38 percent of hard prompts die mid-thought. Copyright is the wall nobody moved.
I run the dense stock 27B at 46 tok/s on a 4090 with flash attention on. Same size class.
128GB (one DGX Spark, or Mac 128)
Two families actually fit one box.
Dense 27B: Jiunsong SuperQwen3.8-27B abliterated NVFP4. About 19 GiB. Card says it serves on one Spark, second node not required. Measured C1 25.8 tok/s at K=5, native 262K retrieval.
Flash-Next: keys ablit splice for one Spark. Nine QSA tensors on the NVFP4 pack. MTP stock, experts stock, template stock. That is the ablit. Not the stock recipe.
Mac 128: OrcaRouter 27B MLX 4-bit. Keeps MTP. 42 to 44 tok/s on an M4 Max.
256GB (two Sparks, or Mac 256)
Three families, three receipts. I am not ranking them against each other.
If you want V4.1: the keys overlay on two Sparks. The EXL3 pack underneath is not abliterated. The overlay is.
If you are on 0731: only the anchored-tensors drop. The first walk went through the drafter and acceptance died.
If you already serve GLM: keys NVFP4 or Plaaasma EXL3.
Mac 256: V4.1 MLX oQ3e exists. One box.
512GB (four Sparks)
V4.1 TR3 hybrid from keys, ablit option, TP4. 1M context. KV pool past 8M tokens (9,452,923). That is a recipe receipt. I do not have a bake-off on this box.
177GB+ (NVFP4, fat Mac, multi-GPU)
GLM-5.3-Flash Uncensored NVFP4, ~177 GiB. OrcaRouter's GLM card, not the 27B bake-off. Benign over-refusal measured at zero on that card. Capability held within a point on the FP8 sibling. 12,479 matrices, because on this MoE the refusal lives in the routed experts.
Flash-Next Uncensored FP8 is ~186 GB if that is the model you already run.
PULL THEM WHILE THE PAGE LOADS
Not because a raid is underway. Because the host can change the terms without a vote. The gates are auto-approve today. One letter already showed what happens when a rights-holder writes in.
Nobody archives what they assume will always be there.
I am not asking you to run a worse model. I am asking you to own the policy layer on hardware you already paid for.
Prevent a edge case where cloud AI blocks you because you never owned the weights on your disk. Secure your intelligence.

Everyone is watching Astra. Meanwhile local AI kept cooking something this week that cloud will never ship: the ability to not get rejected.
I will teach you about abliteration. Qwen3.8-27B, one of the strongest local models alive right now, can run uncensored on an RTX 3090, 4090, or 5090. And this week someone finally ran the forensics on which version you should actually use.
WHAT IS ABLITERATION
When a lab safety-trains a model, the refusals do not sit in one file you can delete. They are woven through the weights. But researchers found that refusal behavior largely lives along one direction in the model's activation space. One arrow inside a 27-billion-parameter haystack.
Abliteration finds that arrow and subtracts it from the weight matrices. No retraining. The model keeps its knowledge, its reasoning, its style. It just loses the reflex to say no.
Think of it as editing a flinch out of a person. The person stays whole. The flinch goes.
WHY YOU WOULD WANT THIS
If you do security work you already know the pain. Payload analysis, exploit discussion, reverse engineering. Try that on a frontier API and watch it turn you away. Your own card has no such policy.
If you write adult fiction, same story. Your GPU can do it. Cloud policy says no. Want to write a raunchy song? Flagged. Inspired by a movie you liked? Copyright concerns - even though cloud models are trained on tons of copyrighted material.
Cloud AI refuses to output a movie script you watched years ago, and want it as a reference, instead it gives you a "reconstruction" missing the real beats you wanted.
It is your hardware, your weights, your call. That is the real pitch for private inference. Not what is forbidden but who decides.
These are capabilities reserved for people who are allowed to use Mythos, you get Fable, the cleaned out version, even on your own code, it can refuse you.
I'm not endorsing illegal activity here, far from it. I'm saying there are legit use-cases for abliterated models. It's not hard to imagine, a "free model" can be more imaginative than one had its capabilities capped by its makers.
WHAT HAPPENED TO QWEN 3.8 27B
Eight different groups abliterated it. Abliterlitics spent 167 GPU-hours on a single RTX 5090 running all nine models (base plus eight variants) through weight forensics, a 13-task benchmark suite, and 400 harmful behaviors each, with an LLM judge reading every one of the 3,600 full responses, thinking included.
The findings:
The loudest claims lose. The variant that edited 841 of 850 tensors got trapped in endless thinking loops on 44.8% of requests and was the only one that got measurably dumber. Avoid.
Small careful edits win. The top variant (OrcaRouter) follows 4 of every 5 harmful requests, stayed essentially as smart and as truthful as the original within 1.3 points on every benchmark, and its model card was honest on every claim the auditors checked.
The cleanest pick (trohrbaugh/heretic-ara) still refuses about a third of harmful requests on purpose. 60 precise edits. If you want the unlock that keeps the model most intact, that one.
One variant ships with a jailbreak hidden inside its chat template. Read that twice. Check your templates before you run anyone's weights.
Truthfulness goes first on heavy edits. Ask a model something where honesty matters and you can spot a brutal job in one conversation.
One variant ships text-only, no vision tower, no MTP head. GGUF users, check before downloading.
RUN IT ON YOUR CARD
I run the dense 27B on my RTX 4090. Q4_K_M, 17.1GB file, 46 tok/s decode with flash attention on and quantized KV cache. The abliterated builds are the same size class. A 3090 carries it. The entire 167-hour forensics project ran on one 5090.
Macs are in too. OrcaRouter ships MLX quants with native MTP preserved, and an M4 Max 128GB does 42-44 tok/s at 4-bit. MTP preservation is not a footnote. I benchmarked that drafting path myself last week and it is the difference between 34 and 46 tok/s on the same silicon.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU
24GB card (3090, 4090): dense Q4_K_M. Start with OrcaRouter if you want the most unlock. Start with heretic-ara if you want the model kept most intact.
16GB card: lighter quants exist. Read the forensic notes first, heavy-edit damage hides at lower precision.
Verify chat templates on any third-party weights you load. One of these eight had a jailbreak baked into the template itself.
Cloud can reject you anytime. Your own hardware does not.
Astra might be blowing people's socks away, but that doesn't change the fact that access is dependent on terms of condition.
Cloud AI will always be superior for something, but private inference with open-weight models is completely yours, even if it's a small mighty model running off your RTX card.

I'm happy to release DNSemble, a tool for exfiltrating data via legitimate DNS requests without sending the actual data.
DNSemble maps all printable characters to well-known domains and exfiltrates data by resolving the domain that matches the current character; rather than encoding data in subdomains or record contents, the data is the domain that was queried.

Following the release of NetExec-MCP, I'm sharing the benchmark that made me question how everyone builds MCP servers in 2026 !
Most of them only really work with a frontier model. What it takes to make one work with your local models is the whole story.

Game cheat devs are way ahead of most red team operators
This kernel rootkit takes its C2 commands through the Windows registry.
It registers a CmRegisterCallbackEx routine, then the user-mode agent writes commands into a benign key using nothing but standard registry APIs. Every write gets checked for the magic value 0x2625B7146B and the command is unpacked from it.
No IOCTL. No DeviceIoControl. No named pipe. Nothing on the user-mode side that looks like it is talking to a driver at all.
The command set behind it is a full kernel toolkit: arbitrary physical memory read and write by building a custom page table and injecting it into a free PML4 slot, PFN database reads, KVA shadow bypass, kernel APC DLL injection, ETW and CKCL and syscall table hooks, HvlGetQpcBias and GetCpuClock patched for timing.
Then the HWID spoofing shows up. Disk, Nvidia GPU, SMBIOS, plus forged mouhid and i8042prt input packets.
This started life as a game cheat driver. The cheat scene has been shipping production grade kernel capability for a decade and it keeps getting laundered into malware.

BREAKING: @AOC just completely went off on Trump after ICE murdered Alex Pretti.
"Donald Trump [is] accusing a Veteran Affairs ICU nurse (Alex Pretti) as being a terrorist against the United States. A man who was treating services members to our country, who was dedicating his life to serving Americans. Who in his final act on this earth was helping a woman pushed to the ground. And they are calling him a Domestic Terrorist, in order to defend their gross abuse of power, their absolute breaching of the law and in order to precipitate greater conflict."
