That number is mostly made up.
We don’t actually know how much of the warming is attributable to methane (CH₄) because that figure is derived from computer models, which are fudged to agree with temperature observations via arbitrary parameter adjustments.
Either way, Canada’s CH₄ emissions only account for ~1.2% of the global total. In other words, Canada could disappear off the map today and it would have negligible effect on the climate system.
This “action” is just a power grab that’ll continue raising the cost of living.
