BABY SHAQ HAS ARRIVED AT FLORIDA STATE!
Marcis Ponder made his presence felt in a BIG way against Auburn, putting together a monster performance in his college debut!
13 POINTS | 21 REBOUNDS | 3 BLOCKS
12 OFFENSIVE REBOUNDS. Let that sink in. Ponder grabbed 12 boards on the offensive glass alone, giving the Seminoles second-chance opportunities all night and proving just how dominant he can be in the paint.
From Gillion Academy to Team Breakdown, competing on the P32 League circuit, to making an immediate impact at Florida State, Ponder’s journey is a testament to his development and the work he’s put in.
Inside RevoStudios, we break down the performance, the numbers, and what makes the 7-footer such a force around the rim.
21 rebounds. 12 offensive. ONE MONSTER DEBUT.
Credit to P32 League, Team Breakdown, and Gillion Academy for being part of his journey.

Head Coach Todd Franklin joins the JUCO Virtual Tour to break down this year’s Vincennes group and the names four-year coaches need to know heading into the season.

Vincennes University head coach Todd Franklin expects this year’s group to get back to the physical brand of basketball that has defined the program throughout the years.
After playing smaller and spreading the floor more last season, Franklin has a roster built with size and strength across the board. The plan is to use that physicality on the glass, establish a presence inside and make opponents feel them in the paint.
“We’re going to have to be a very physical, strong, rebounding, beat-you-up-in-the-paint kind of basketball team.”
With size throughout both the perimeter and frontcourt, Franklin believes this group is built to embrace a familiar Vincennes identity.
“We’re going to have to be a lot more back to the old days — physical.”

Chipola College head coach Donnie Tyndall is focused on preparing his players for everything that comes with the next level.
Tyndall wants Chipola to be known for hard-playing, athletic and unselfish basketball, with a group that plays together and brings toughness and physicality to the floor.
“They’re Division I ready, because of the way we practice, the way we prepare guys, the work we do in the weight room.”
For Tyndall, that preparation extends beyond basketball, with an emphasis on the classroom, accountability and helping players make a smooth transition when their next opportunity arrives.

For Ellsworth Community College head coach Brian Bender, the identity of his program starts with its values.
“We’ve always been a value-driven program. So our values are what lead us.”
Those values — passion, humility, discipline and academics — PhD — set the standard for how Ellsworth operates in three different areas.
“PhD is the highest level of education a person can get, and we want to do it in three places: court, community, classroom.”
But after reaching the national championship game last season and falling just short, the Panthers have added another message to their culture this year: One More.
“Everything that we’re doing is geared towards getting one more win, or one more rep, or one more night in the gym, one more anything that you possibly can get, myself included.”
For Bender, One More isn’t limited to chasing another win. It’s about finding another opportunity every day to improve and push the program forward.
“That’s kind of our identity and who we are as a program.”

For Chipola College head coach Donnie Tyndall, the foundation of the program starts at the defensive end.
Through his first six seasons at Chipola, Tyndall says the Indians have won the Panhandle Conference and reached Hutchinson every year — continuing the tradition of a program with a long history of success.
“We’ve been very fortunate, had a lot of good players, good assistant coaches that have moved on to become head coaches or Division I assistants.”
But one constant has defined Tyndall’s teams throughout that run: defense.
“My first three years we were number one in the country in defense, year four we were number two, year five we were number three, and last year we dropped all the way to number six.”
That consistency has made the defensive end a defining piece of Chipola’s identity.
“We’ve been in the top six in the country in defense all six years. That’s kind of our staple, if you will, of how we go about things.”
And entering year seven, the standard remains clear.
“We’re going to defend and rebound, and hopefully we can score a little bit better this year than we did last year, though, at the other end.”

For Trinity Valley head coach Greg Heiar, this year’s Cardinals have the physical tools to immediately grab the attention of college coaches — but those tools are being backed by serious work behind the scenes.
“I’ve got 17 guys that are over 195 pounds, and also I have 18 that are plus-three wingspan or more.”
That combination of size and length is paired with another weapon Heiar believes can separate this group offensively.
“We can really shoot the ball.”
But Trinity Valley’s physical development hasn’t happened by accident. Heiar’s players have bought into a daily routine centered around strength and conditioning, nutrition and recovery, with every player already adding significant weight.
“We’ve had all our players have gained between 7 and 25 pounds already.”
For Heiar, seeing his roster embrace everything required away from the court has been just as encouraging as what the Cardinals can do on it.
“We put a lot of emphasis on strength and conditioning and our nutrition program, along with our recovery program. And I’m really pleased with how our guys have bought into that.”

For Trinity Valley head coach Greg Heiar, this year’s group has the tools to impact games in just about every way — but what stands out first is how connected they’ve become.
“They’re well connected. They share the ball. They take pride on the defensive end of the court.”
That selflessness carries throughout the roster, from crashing the offensive glass and gang rebounding defensively to a bench that stays completely engaged in the game.
“They seem like some selfless human beings, and they can put the ball in the basket.”
And offensively, Heiar believes Trinity Valley has a combination that should grab the attention of college coaches: shooting, size, length and athleticism with the ability to threaten defenses from multiple levels.
“I think this team can play above the rim, but it can also play behind the three-point line as well.”
With jamborees, tours and Division I coaches coming through the gym, Heiar is ready for the Cardinals to show how their work in practice translates when the competition begins.

For North Crowley head coach Tommy Brakel, building a high school basketball program looks a lot different today than it did when he first started coaching.
“Branding in 2008, branding in 2026. I mean, that’s the difference right there.”
There was a time when the basketball could speak for itself and exposure might come through a preseason story in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Now, social media gives programs and players the ability to tell their story immediately and reach well beyond their own community.
“Years ago, might be sitting down with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram… and now here we are sitting in Revocruit Studios.”
The game still matters. The way programs build visibility around it has completely changed.

Angelina College Head Coach and Athletic Director J.J. Montgomery stopped by RevoStudios to talk about his journey, the program he once starred for and what he’s continuing to build in Lufkin.
Montgomery’s story with Angelina runs deep. The former Roadrunner became the program’s all-time leading scorer before moving on to play Division I basketball at Arkansas State and professionally overseas. Years later, he returned home to lead his alma mater from the sidelines.
Coming off a 26-win season and an Elite Eight run at the NJCAA Division I National Tournament in 2024-25, Montgomery has established Angelina as a program capable of competing on the national stage while continuing to develop players for the next level.
From wearing the jersey to leading the entire athletic department, Montgomery is continuing to leave his mark on Angelina College.
