Most of Paraguay looks exactly like this
Grand Theft Auto: Paraguay | 🇵🇾. An extremely accurate aesthetic depiction of Asunción 😂. The buildings, road conditions, public hospital waiting room, market, nightclub, etc. It all really does look like this.

Based Polish Brah or Paraguay Hater?
I'll put it this way: hats off to you. I couldn't have said it better myself. As someone who lived in Paraguay for six years, I honestly get a headache every time I read the bullshit people post about that country, painting it as some kind of paradise on Earth. For fuck's sake, they manage to present every single flaw as a virtue. You go to a supermarket and the cashiers move at a snail's pace? Oh, how wonderful! That's because nobody is in a hurry in this country! The quality of services is absolute shit? Turns out that's another massive advantage! Because everyone's so laid-back, nobody gets stressed, there's no rat race, and above all, steak is cheap and you don't have to pay those horrible 50% taxes! You constantly read about how Europe has supposedly become a Muslim continent, completely overrun by Muslims, and how it's basically finished. Meanwhile, thousands of Paraguayans dream of moving even to the poorer European countries, let alone those who would give their right arm for a chance to move to Germany, France, or Italy. The reality is that Paraguay is a country with virtually no meaningful infrastructure, a dysfunctional healthcare and educacional system, and practically nonexistent human capital. It's a country built for and around a narrow elite that knows exactly how to extract maximum profits from a tax system optimized for their benefit and a quasi-feudal social structure that keeps most of the population in a state of extreme ignorance. And here, I strongly recommend taking a look at Paraguay's PISA test results. Meanwhile, a tiny group of beneficiaries makes an absolute fortune precisely because the vast majority of society consists of complete idiots who apparently need nothing more than empty slogans to get through life. And then I come across some guy from a developed civilization - Spain, the United States, or some other developed country - singing Paraguay's praises to the heavens, absolutely ecstatic about how wonderful life there supposedly is. The cognitive dissonance is so extreme it makes my head explode. That's why, without wanting to sound too modest, quite a few people consider me Paraguay's number-one hater. But really, I'm just trying to restore some kind of balance to the universe, because it drives me absolutely fucking insane to read the bullshit these people keep posting - bullshit that has absolutely nothing to do with reality.

A lot of these expats complain that their home countries are being ruined by immigrant browns and wokes But, if you pry deeper 9 out of 10 admit it's mostly about economics They can't afford the good life in their country, which is fine, but they aren't honest about it
The worst thing these guys do of lying to people is they mostly lie to themselves. Post stuff like "best damn country in the world". "my home country sucks". "they are communists back home". "black/brown people invaded EU, etc. etc" and the same thing or worse where they live. They will complain about the banking system in the EU or USA. And then deal with the shamble of a banking system in Argentina or wherever they are in. The biggest lie they tell is to themselves.

Leaving Latam for the US I lived in Latam for 12 years, initially attracted by the freedom and excitement of the region My parents were both born in France, I was born in New Zealand but spent most of my adolescence in the US I'm married with 2 young kids. I've decided that

Outside a few major cities, healthcare is subpar. Same with schools. The economies are largely based extracting minerals, oil, growing crops, raising cattle. Politicians are the literal mafia, and are comically inept. The region has no future. When I arrived 12 years ago...

I believed like many newcomers that Latam was the future, and West was doomed. I'm now incredibly bullish on the US despite some it's problems. I will be back to Latam because it's where my wife's family is from, but I'm looking forward to living in the 1st world again.

🏦🇦🇷🇨🇳 The Central Bank of Argentina (BCRA) has almost completely canceled its swap agreement with China, bringing it to a historic low: it repaid US$4.3 billion, leaving only US$675 million for full repayment. The swap agreement with China began in 2009, was renewed several times, and the total available amount is approximately US$19 billion. It was last activated in August 2023 due to a dollar shortage, with a maturity date of August 2026. Around US$5 billion was activated to pay for imports, service debt, and support the dollar when reserves were very low. With more stable reserves, the BCRA decided to reduce its exposure to this instrument. This decision is part of the process of normalizing the country's international reserves and reducing short-term dependencies. It is also part of reducing China’s influence in the Americas. ¡VLLC!

Opinions on watches? I really hate playing the status game even to the point where it probably hurts me at times Is it worth getting a watch when networking in Latam? Social class is everything in Latam, but I prefer being low key and don't like people knowing I'm wealthy

Un tren chocó un camión que llevaba agua mineral en el paso a nivel "Nestor Kirchner". Llegaron los vecinos solidarios a afanarse la mercadería. Imposible sacar adelante el pais cuando los inmorales son mayoría.

So much AI slop on this app these days
Just walked through a "luxury" coworking space in Bogota. $800/month for a desk. €7 coffees. Everyone on Zoom pretending to work. Half the "digital nomads" here are burning savings, not making money. The laptop lifestyle is expensive when you're faking it.

It's good for Argentina, but do we want to celebrate this? A government took private capital by force and isn't paying what they owe. This is communism. All judges in the case were left wing democrats A horrible day for capitalism
