Unfortunately, we are skipping VR Download this week. We'll be back from next week, though, at 9am PT sharp on Wednesdays!

It's been a month since Meta last updated its Meta Horizon (Spatial SDK) plugin and it no longer works with the current Android Studio. Why can't Meta update the plugin within a week of a new AS release? If Meta wants Android apps on their headsets, put some agents on the task.

That eye tracking can be added to such thin glasses makes it likely that the next version of the Aura will have it. And the Quest 4 and the next version of the Specs (if there is one) will have it too. So XR may fully shift to gaze and pinch. I’m seriously reconsidering my Aura order. I had been looking forward to playing around with it but it’s starting to feel like an expensive dead end with limited vertical FOV and no eye tracking.
The new Qwen N1 Pro glasses from Alibaba bring an amazing innovation to #smartglasses: eye tracking. In my latest article, I tell you why I think this can be super intriguing... but also bring some privacy concerns. Read the post and let me know your thoughts! skarredghost.com/2026/10/20/… #artificialintelligence #technology #China

If anyone has an Apple Vision Pro and hasn’t picked up the PSVR2 controllers and charger, maybe now’s the time.
As spotted by a Redditor, PSVR2 seems delisted from PlayStation Direct Store in the US (not in Europe). I checked and it is actually true #VirtualReality #VR #PSVR2

1/ I sat down with @mattpocockuk and asked about the most valuable AI skill to learn for 2027. His answer was communication, because the clarity of your thinking ends up in what you build. No model can read your mind, so whoever explains what they want best gets the best output.

I’m loving the VR ads I’m seeing on FB. Maybe the products aren’t for me but it’s good to see companies trying things.

HP has a keyboard with a computer inside. Ridiculously priced like everything these days. For the headset user who wants a clean desk and doesn’t want to use a cheap headless MacBook. hp.com/us-en/desktops/busine…

Would both companies go through this effort for just the Meta VR Glasses? Makes me think that the Quest 4 will also have expandable storage and possibly other Meta devices will as well.

Got a good email from XREAL about apps available on the Aura and a link to a short but well-crafted survey. I appreciate the effort.

A recent episode of Ian Hamilton’s Good VR podcast is an interview with the founder of Be My Eyes. Tens of thousands of blind/low vision people (2% of the total users) of Meta glasses use them for assistance.
