It's been over 3 weeks since I submitted my formal complaint to @lastminute_com. Apart from an acknowledgement that they'd received it, I've had no substantive response despite being forced to pay £625 for a replacement flight after being given incorrect information before travel
I booked a £688.25 trip through @bookingcom was fulfilled by @lastminute_com . A passenger name error that the airline said should have cost ~£50 to amend ended up costing me £625 for a replacement flight hours before travel. I've now been pursuing a formal complaint for weeks.
The whole experience caused significant anxiety and distress immediately before travelling for work. No customer should have to spend hours desperately trying to resolve a simple name amendment on the day of travel.
Formal complaints have been submitted. @bookingcom and @lastminute_com have now had several weeks to investigate. I'm still waiting for a substantive response. @MartinSLewis @WhichUK @BBCWatchdog @resolvercouk
Booked through @bookingcom, fulfilled by @lastminute_com. An incorrect passenger name should've cost £50 to amend. Instead I was told my ticket had been cancelled (it hadn't) + was forced to pay £625 for a replacement flight hours before travel. Formal complaint ignored by both.
I was told by @lastminute_com that the airline had cancelled my ticket. I immediately contacted the airline who confirmed this was untrue. Both tickets remained active and @lastminute_com had never contacted them.
