The Catholic Church has altar **BOYS**, not because priests are physically unable to light candles and move cruets of wine/water. We have altar BOYS as a trial experiment for our young men to DISCERN THE PRIESTHOOD at the altar. It's based on the pattern of vocational apprenticeship. Bringing in altar girls undermines the whole point of altar boys. I wish people would take 1 minute to consider the ramifications. Alas, most people have brains rotted out by feminism. PS: Having Aunt Rita as an Eucharistic minister, your mom’s friend Karen as a lector, and adolescent girls as “altar girls” is a sinister way to repel adolescent men from priestly service….

They say you can’t imprison your way out of crime. But in fact, a strong police force and a tough, well-managed prison system are the necessary first steps in transforming a hellscape into a safe, high-trust society.

Dear Faithful Catholics- These words came to me after awakening this morning. They are words I should have said to break the silence after my intervention at the USCCB meeting. I say them now to Pope Leo, to the bishops and to all who claim to be disciples of Jesus Christ. “How long will you halt between two masters? If you believe Christ is Lord, then follow Him! If the world is your master, then go to it! But no longer profane His sanctuary while you betray the Cross!” Bishops, STOP with the games! STOP with the lies. STOP turning a blind eye to the little ones! A massive stockpile of millstones is ready to be distributed among you. One for Pope Leo, a truck load for the Curia in the Vatican, and cargo ships full for the vast majority of today’s successors of the Apostles. How dare I speak these words, how dare I judge these princes of the Church? No brothers, HOW DARE YOU inflict harm on the little ones over and over again?? You harm the little ones when you make the Sacred Sacrifice of Jesus Christ, the Holy Mass, a bauble, a bargaining chip for your worldly conniving, a platform for spewing heresy and playing footsie with the world. You harm the little ones when you welcome couples caught up in sin, flaunting their sad disordered lives and instead of calling them to repentance in Jesus Christ you have a chat about silly things and are acclaimed for being so kind. You even welcome them into the sacred sanctuary and drape a veil of blessing over the dung of their sin. You harm the little ones when you spend hours in meetings quibbling over this word or that phrase when the world is guiding them deeper into darkness and despair. The little ones cry, “Where is hope” and they are ignored. You harm the little ones when you promote lawlessness and turn a blind eye to the rapes, the murders and the attacks of nefarious criminals who waltz across open borders. Some of the little ones are caught up in these mass migrations and trampled upon as they seek a better life. Some of the little ones find their homes and towns invaded as shepherds say “we must welcome the stranger” and then allow marauders and criminals free rein. We must all seek Jesus Christ as Lord and hear His call to repentance. We must say no to the depravities of the world and bring the light of truth to all the dark corners of the world. We must say no to the lawlessness that turns a blind eye to sin. We must believe that Jesus Christ is Lord. We must be shepherds.

The annual “Populus Summorum Pontificum Pilgrimage ad Petri Sedem” drew its highest number of pilgrims yesterday since it began in 2012. Pope Leo XIV allowed the Pontifical Mass to go ahead in St Peter’s Basilica, restoring it after its suspension in 2022 following ‘Traditionis Custodes.’ Cardinal Raymond Burke was the celebrant.

This is one of the Latin Mass communities banished in Charlotte, NC. In their final Sunday TLM, the faithful of St. Ann’s sing the Salve Regina following Mass, as they have done for years. This is the beauty and transcendence so many seek. And it has just been crushed.

I first met Charlie Kirk about four years ago when I was in Phoenix for a speaking engagement. He reached out and invited me to breakfast. I was deeply impressed by him that day. He was a man of great intelligence, considerable charm, and real goodness of heart.   I reconnected with him just last year, after I saw him debate twenty-five young people who were, to put it mildly, hostile to his views. I texted him that I was so struck by how he kept his cool and his charitable attitude in the face of some pretty obnoxious opposition. I then asked him to appear as a guest on my interview program, “Bishop Barron Presents,” and he eagerly accepted my invitation. He was scheduled to come to Rochester, Minnesota in about ten days. The last contact we had was two nights ago. After I appeared on one of the evening news shows to talk about the Religious Liberty Commission, he texted me and told me how much he appreciated what I said and then added, “I’m excited to join you on your show soon. God bless you.”   That last sentence shows what was most important to Charlie. He was indeed a great debater and also one of the best advocates in our country for civil discourse, but he was, first and last, a passionate Christian. In fact, when we had that breakfast in Phoenix, we didn’t talk much about politics. We talked about theology, in which he had a deep interest, and about Christ. I know I’m joining millions of people around the world in praying that he rests now in the peace of the Lord.

Charlie Kirk would have been president. His friends knew it. His admirers knew it. And his enemies knew it. This universal confidence in Charlie’s future began with his countless political accomplishments. At 18, he founded Turning Point USA, which went on to become the most important cultural organization on the American Right. By 22, he was addressing the Republican National Convention. Three years later, he founded Turning Point Action, which led the get-out-the-vote efforts that delivered the first Republican popular vote victory in twenty years. In his spare time, Charlie published five books, hosted a national talk show, married a lovely wife, and fathered two beautiful children. All of that by 31. Charlie’s appearance inspired as much confidence as his accomplishments. At a towering six-foot-five slouching, he joked that he had descended from the Nephilim—the giant “fallen ones” of the Old Testament. He might have been born with such a nature, as are we all, but he was not content to remain so. Charlie loved his Savior. The zeal with which he debated politics paled in comparison to the excitement with which he discussed religion. And his religious life bore fruit. Turning Point launched a Faith division to focus specifically on his followers’ souls. There too, Charlie’s enthusiasm for open debate set the tone, as he invited atheists and even Catholics to take part. But he didn’t need a specific religious conference to convey his faith. Charlie Kirk’s religion bore fruit in everything he did. Discerning observers believed in Charlie Kirk, not chiefly for his accolades or his appearance, but for his manifest virtue. Charlie’s prudence, the principal virtue in politics, built a generational coalition that helped to transform the American government. His temperance distinguished him as one of the few on the Right to eschew whisky, cigars, and every other delight that might have distracted him from his purpose, for which he had so little time. His sense of justice produced clarity in moral vision and grace for his opponents. His fortitude impelled him to enter the public square without a hint of servile fear. Charlie’s only fear was the holy sort—awe and wonder, the beginning of wisdom—and his clearest virtues were theological: faith, hope, and charity. We mourn his death, we take up his cause, and we entrust him, as he confidently entrusted himself, to God’s care.

Appeal of the Clergy of Taybeh, recently attacked by Israeli settlers: We, the priests of the three churches of Taybeh – the Greek Orthodox Church, the Latin Church, and the Melkite Greek Catholic Church – raise our voices on behalf of the people of our town and our parishioners to strongly condemn the ongoing and grave series of attacks targeting Taybeh. These assaults threaten the security and stability of our town and aim at undermining the dignity of its residents and the sanctity of its sacred land. On Monday, July 7, 2025, settlers deliberately set fire near the town’s cemetery and the historic Church of Saint George (Al-Khadr), dating back to the 5th century – one of the oldest religious landmarks in Palestine. Were it not for the vigilance of local residents and the swift intervention of firefighting teams, the damage could have been far more catastrophic. In a scene that has become provocatively routine, settlers continue to graze their cattle in Taybeh’s agricultural lands, including family-owned fields and areas near residential homes, without deterrence or intervention from the authorities. These violations go beyond provocation; they cause direct harm to olive trees – a vital source of livelihood for the people of Taybeh – and prevent farmers from accessing and cultivating their land. The eastern area of Taybeh, which comprises more than half of the town’s territory and includes the bulk of its agricultural activity, has effectively become an open target for illegal settlement outposts that expand quietly under military protection. These outposts serve as a base for further assaults on the land and its people. As priests, we bear a pastoral and moral responsibility toward our community. We cannot remain silent in the face of these relentless attacks that threaten our very existence on this land. Taybeh – known in the Gospel as “Ephraim,” the place to which Jesus withdrew before His Passion (John 11:54) – is the last remaining entirely Christian town in the West Bank. Its wholly Christian population represents a unique presence in the region, a living testimony that dates back to the time of Christ. This enduring spiritual and cultural legacy, preserved faithfully by the people of Taybeh across generations, is now at serious risk of erosion and displacement due to the systematic targeting of land, sacred places, and the local community. We call upon local and international actors – especially consuls, ambassadors, and church representatives around the world – to take the following actions: 1. Launch an immediate and transparent investigation into the incidents of arson and the ongoing assaults on property, agricultural land, and holy sites. 2. Apply diplomatic pressure on the occupying authorities to halt settler actions and prevent them from entering or grazing in Taybeh’s lands. 3. Dispatch international and church delegations to conduct field visits, document the damages, and bear witness to the deteriorating reality on the ground. 4. Support the people of Taybeh through economic and agricultural initiatives, and strengthen their resilience with effective legal accompaniment. We believe that the Holy Land cannot remain alive without its indigenous people. Forcibly removing farmers from their land, threatening their churches, and encircling their towns is a wound to the living heart of this nation. Yet we remain steadfast in our shared faith and hope – that truth and justice will ultimately prevail. Fr. Daoud Khoury Fr. Jack-Nobel Abed Fr. Bashar Fawadleh

We celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, a feast the Church established precisely so that the faithful might allow God to enter more deeply into their daily lives through the Holy Eucharist. After celebrating the Tridentine Mass (Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite) at Mary Help of Christians Parish in Hong Kong, I led a Eucharistic procession, bringing the Holy Eucharist out of the church and through the streets of the campus. Jesus is truly Emmanuel—God with us. He so desires to be with us that He left us this marvelous Sacrament, offering Himself under the appearance of bread and wine for us to eat and drink. The food we eat becomes part of our body, but when we receive Jesus, we become His Body. Sometimes we say, “Let us not leave Jesus alone in the tabernacle.” Of course, this is a figurative way of speaking. When Jesus revealed His Sacred Heart, He said, “This heart has loved men so much, yet is so little loved in return.” As though He needs our consolation. In truth, it is not Jesus who needs us—but He knows that we need Him. To forget Jesus is our greatest loss. #CorpusChristi #Eucharist #SacredHeart

“consider yourselves dead to sin but alive for God in Christ Jesus.” Romans 6:8-11 If we have died with Christ, we believe that we are also to live with him. We know that Christ, once raised from the dead, will never die again; death has no more power over him. His death was death to sin, once for all; his life is life for God. In the same way you must consider yourselves dead to sin but alive for God in Christ Jesus.
