The Resentful Hatchet discourse has gotten me thinking about terrible books that I was forced to read during my school years. For my money, it doesn't get worse than Their Eyes Were Watching God. Awful book.
If there is some large portion of women who feel aggrieved that they had to read a book meant to appeal to boys, allow me to be the first to say that I don't care. Today's curriculum and literary marketplace in general is saturated with inane, navel-gazing girl-pop dreck. Man or woman, if boys learning to "self-actualize" by thinking about their relationship to a "weapon" is offensive to you, then please, by all means, take that feeling and stuff it in the darkest, most overly sensitive corner of your ass.
Lol, they knew to disable comments. Anyway, good riddance to this detestable sewage spout.
Today, after 31 years, we are saddened to announce that Salon is ceasing publication. It has been an extraordinary privilege. salon.com/2026/11/05/goodbye…
Morality is collectivist. Whether you know it or not, whether you acknowledge it or not, 99.99% of you depend on people sharing your moral priors based on no logical grounding or evidence.
Everyone likes to think that they know what morality is and that they'd have been on the "right" side of all the various moral battles throughout history. Jokes. You would 100% have been the person burning witches or cheering from the crowd as the guillotine came down.
I want to try to explain what we're seeing here. This woman has turned away from a high prestige career path because it was less lucrative than selling her body online. The fact that he is interviewing her at all, that he is trying to appeal TO HER, that she is able to shrug off everything that he says, all of these things speak to a new dispensation of social status and power.
50 years ago, someone like Piers would just call this lady a trollop and have done with it, comfortable in the knowledge that the social order in which he lived did not reward this behavior because it was disgraceful. Even if a prostitute could make good money, she still knew that there was a heavy penalty that society would impose for what she did. Today, society has basically no way of enforcing that penalty. Today, society enforces penalties for using a no-no word online. Today, Piers might still believe that this woman's actions are disgraceful, but has no way of making a meaningful objection because all of this is perfectly legal and acceptable under his views, and society does indeed reward it.
In fact, if monetary compensation is truly and indication of what a society appreciates, society values HER more highly than a lawyer, than a teacher, than a fire-fighter, than a doctor, than HIM. Perhaps that's something we should be thinking about.
Piers can sputter all he wants, but in the end, all he succeeded in doing was making this woman laugh and getting her more paypigs.
These are the outcomes of your own ideas, Piers. If you don't like them, perhaps you should have thought a little more deeply about the things you believe.
Piers Morgan told a law student she was wasting her brain on OnlyFans. She told him she earns about double what he does. Then he asked what her future kids would think. "They can cry in a Ferrari."
Piers spent the whole interview trying to make her regret it. She never stopped smiling.
In the video below, he keeps pushing and she keeps winning.
Her name is Elle Brooke. She was a law student at university in Southampton. She saw how much money other people were earning online and thought: I can do this too. So she dropped out.
Piers tells her she obviously has a great brain. Why pack in a career as a lawyer?
Her answer: she wouldn't have made much as a solicitor anyway. "I earned that in two weeks now."
He asks how much she makes. She asks how much he makes. "Maybe, like, double that."
She won't give a number. Only that she's in the top 0.01% of OnlyFans creators "in monetary terms."
Then he tries family. Surely they're disappointed?
"My dad is dead and my mum is on my payroll."
Doing what? "Admin." Her mum doesn't brag about it at the pub, she says, but she's supportive.
Piers warns her that some people watching will think she sounds awful. She shrugs: "With a little bit of good looks and hard work, you can become a millionaire."
Even Piers admits it: "The bottom line is she's making millions doing what she enjoys doing."
His last shot: in 15 years she'll tell him he was right.
"I'll pick you up in my Bugatti."
Here's what happened after. She later said that interview basically doubled her earnings. And in January 2024 she knocked out AJ Bunker in the third round to win the Misfits Boxing women's middleweight title.
Piers thought he was watching a bright girl throw away a law career. She walked out with a viral clip, by her own account double the income, and within a year a title belt.
The person asking the questions isn't always the one in control.
Was unaware that wearing a stupid Sonic the hedgehog mask was a core component of being gay
This is one of those rules that is going to die pretty loudly. Expectations of deference and chivalry from men have no justification anymore. Some men may continue to play along, but I think more will discard this unequal arrangement with or without women's approval.
New video out: Wicked is so good it ruined a generation of women.

Poor girl's getting dogpiled but she's more right than wrong. A lot of people's lives simply revolve around this consumerist slop and yeah, that's not something you should be ok with.
"Let people enjoy things!!!!!!!!!"
Whose stopping you? Is someone telling you you're not gonna be allowed to watch cape-shit anymore? Don't think so. Really does seem like you're pissing your pants over someone not validating your "hobby" though.
Well, you see...it's because you people are still rabid animals and that creates a strong interest in the kind of aggressively sane takes that shoe provides.
Please come up with a more interesting problem to have.
A complete failure of mind. No, men don't "lowkey wanna try" this. They know it's useless. Men aren't trying to cheat themselves out of a real workout.
"The problem isn't the lying. It's people who care about the lying."
You shouldn't have to coexist with people like this.
Narrator: At the time, we all laughed of course. Obviously, Peterson was just an out of touch crank. We knew better. If history had proven anything, it was that nothing ever changes.
This is what we call a distinction without a difference.
Everyone is freaking out over this clip but tbh, it’s just classic female projection.
Alex Cooper is not really speaking to Sophia, she is speaking to (and intentionally disrespecting) her current husband bc she knows he will see this clip and she wants him to know she’s unhappy in their marriage.
Sophia Bush is looking for reassurance that her two failed marriages (which each lasted less than a year) are not her fault.
It’s meaningless banter between two insecure women looking to validate their own life choices.
No disrespect to either of them. Just stating the obvious. Wrote a lot about this topic in my last book.
Is "patriarchy" just when a woman doesn't get her way?
