On top of that, Jack's ability to shine even brighter with his kicks against southpaw fighters will come in handy in this fight as it means that Pyfer's #1 way of defending the calf kick, switching stances, will end up backfiring

I expect some buyback action so this play IMO is playable up until +180 for Jack

Despite fading Joe Pyfer here, it would be a shame not to leave you guys with quite possibly the most hype regional tape edit of any fighter out there as a treat (this video has been unlisted for a while): youtube.com/watch?v=QT52rEHg…

We've seen him, time and time again, implement that a kick-heavy, calf kick oriented gameplan with tremendous success against way better strikers, with way better movement and way more experience than Joe.

Even then though, Jack is still very much capable of exposing this glaring hole of Pyfer's game - even in an orthodox vs orthodox matchup.

The only thing that Pyfer has got going on for him regarding that big red flag is that Jack's kicking game doesn't shine as bright and as efficiently against orthodox fighters (like Pyfer) as it does against southpaw fighters.

It was painfully obvious that Pyfer's wide stance and the amount of weight he places on his lead leg, coupled with his inability to efficiently check kicks, makes him very susceptible to calf kicks.

As crazy as it may sound, Jack is masterful with his kicks. He posseses a great variety of kicks and one of his most technically sound ones is that exact same calf kick Pyfer struggled with.

It's a weird situation because I genuinely think Pyfer is a good fighter. His regional tape has some of the most dynamic striking I've seen from a (then) regional guy and his UFC run so far has shown us that he's improving on things like fight IQ and grappling awareness.

Having said all that, I genuinely think this is a bad stylistic matchup for him - especially on the feet. Everyone seems to be raving about Pyfer's performance against Alhassan but in my opinion that fight was a huge red flag in the context of his matchup against Hermansson.
