The bill contained what’s known as a poison pill, a provision buried with the assistance for Israel that would defund the IRS and inhibit it from cracking down on rich tax evaders, Republicans whine about the debt, but this would make it worse by reducing government revenues. It’s totally irresponsible and a cheap stunt to score political points by claiming the vote is against aid for Israel. Republicans knew this would

In 1960, the USSR accused the U.S. of running an aerial spying program over its territory. Our government denied it to the American people, only admitting it when confronted with the captured U-2 pilot Gary Powers. Americans were genuinely shocked that their government would lie to them. Today the lying has become so routine that people are no longer shocked. There can be no true democracy when government manipulates the people with spin, hype, propaganda, phony “leaks,” and outright lies. BREAKING: Gun violence is actually worse in RED states and it’s not even close according to a new analysis.
Southern politicians, including Republican governors Ron DeSantis and Greg Abbott, have blamed crime in Democratic-run cities like New York for being out of control.
However, statistics show that New York City region has the lowest rates of gun violence in the US mainland, while the southern swath of the country has the highest rates.
Those living in rural areas of South Carolina are more likely to die from gunshot wounds than those in equally rural areas of New York.
The highest rates of deadly gun violence occur in regions where Republicans have long dominated state governments.
“The Deep South is the most deadly of the large regions at 15.6 per 100,000 residents followed by Greater Appalachia at 13.5. Yankeedom is the next safest at 8.6, which is about half that of Deep South,” writes journalist Colin Woodard.
Maybe it’s time we take common sense Gun laws seriously?
It’s time to win the debate. Let’s expand background checks and pass an assault weapons ban.
Let’s curb ghost guns, ban high-capacity magazines, fight gun trafficking, and lengthen the review window for existing background checks.
We know the problem.
It’s the guns.

Republicans: “Banning assault rifles is illegal.”
Reality:
- Short-Barreled Shotguns & Rifles have been banned in America since 1934 unless you have a taxed permit from the ATF, pay $200+ and get fingerprinted.
- New Machine Guns made after 1986 have been banned since 1986. Machine guns made prior to 1986 require special registration with the ATF as well.
- Assault weapons were banned in 1994 for 10 years under Bill Clinton. Republicans in Congress refused to renew the ban after 10 years.
Assault weapons can be banned in America without abridging the 2nd Amendment. Republicans just won't admit it.
