Today, we’re sharing the exciting news that @ProjectKuiper has successfully tested its optical mesh network in low earth orbit. Kuiper’s prototype satellites each include advanced optical communications payloads, and the team completed several successful demonstrations of this next-generation technology, maintaining 100 gigabit per second links over a distance of nearly 621 miles. Amazon’s optical mesh network will provide multiple paths to route data through space, creating resiliency and redundancy for customers who need to securely transport information around the world. These satellites were designed fully in-house and developed at a remarkable pace, & the laser links will be included on every satellite deployed from day 1. aboutamazon.com/news/innovat…
