Confused by the idea of "microfoundations of macroeconomics"?
Here is an alternative: The macrofoundations of macroeconomics by Steve Keen:

After Jacob Coxon's resignation and extinction warnings, a lot of people are asking 'how could AI possibly kill everyone?' and claiming AI safety researchers have no realistic answer.
This is false! Here are the 5 best scenarios I know of:
AI 2027: ai-2027.com (I strongly recommend this one for being realistic, engaging, and if you dig into the appendices, highly detailed)
Paul Christiano's scenario (Former Head of Safety @ AISI, 2019): lesswrong.com/posts/HBxe6wdj…
Gwern Branwen's scenario (widely known independent AI researcher, 2022): lesswrong.com/posts/a5e9arCn…
Holden Karnofsky's high-level explanation (RSP Lead @ Anthropic, 2022): cold-takes.com/ai-could-defe…
Joshua Clymer's scenario (ex-OpenAI, 2025): lesswrong.com/posts/KFJ2LFog…
(There's also the Sable story from ifanyonebuilds.it, though you'll have to buy the book to read that one.)
Writing concrete, specific risk scenarios with enormous amounts of detail has been a major research project of many of the most prominent voices in the field! (With the current leaders in effort being ai-2040.com and ai-2027.com)

The people building AI earnestly believe that it could kill us all by the end of the decade. This is not a marketing stunt. If anything, many executives and senior researchers will couch their phrasing in the press to sound sensible - but I hear the same people express fear privately. No other human activity poses this level of danger.
Where to start with the newly exposed (albeit kind of minor - but telling) mayhem at @bendigobank on the systems, security and risk management front following a brute force attack on the bank's most archaic legacy systems in March 2023.

Why Big Capital hated Keynes almost as much as they hated the organised working class and the commies. He had seen through the illusion of bond market power, which had evolved from C12 Venice to be rolled out worldwide, making all nations vulnerable under the cosh of the US$'s 'exorbitant privilege' as reserve currency. History's greatest and most enduring financial scam.
"[In 1914] When the public refused to buy the bonds, the Bank of England simply created the money. The elaborate cover-up was not to secure funding, but to maintain the illusion that the government depended on private lenders.... One of the few officials who knew the truth at the time was a young Treasury official named John Maynard Keynes. Then 31 years old, Keynes was one of a handful of people who knew the full extent of the deception. Bank of England research describes the operation as a “masterful manipulation” of the Bank’s balance sheet, a fact known to Keynes."

Must follow account for Australians. By these projections we are going to run out of diesel by May 19th. Think about what that means for the economy.

This is one of the bravest things I have seen an Australian journalist say in a long time.
Thank you for being here on @X for the public, who are now being intimidated into silence with borderline fascist laws, Hugh.
Hopefully there will be others in #Auspol who find a spine.
