It’s crazy to me that someone like Seyi Makinde who values Nigerians and have a clear vision to take the country to Glory days has to continuously market himself to us yet some of you are still campaigning for the man who has done nothing but inflict endless sufferings on us.
If Oyo State is a mini Nigeria, then what happens when the lessons from governing it are applied across the country?
The Reset Nigeria proposition is about taking the experience of governing Oyo State and bringing that experience into a national conversation about the economy, security, education and the socio-political systems that make government work.
Oyo State is the experience.
Nigeria is the assignment.

IN HONOUR OF SIS 10 FALLEN HEROES
Yesterday, ten brave officers of the Nigeria Police Special Intelligence Squad (SIS) made the ultimate sacrifice while defending a village in Kebbi State from an advancing force of more than 200 terrorists.
They knew they were heavily outnumbered, yet they refused to retreat. They stood between the attackers and the innocent civilians they had sworn to protect. With extraordinary courage and selflessness, they fought to the very end, giving their lives so that others might live.
Ten officers went into battle and did not return home to their families. Behind each uniform was a father, son, husband, brother, or loved one whose life was cut tragically short in the line of duty.
Their sacrifice is a painful reminder of the courage demanded of those who stand on the frontlines to protect our communities. May their families find strength in knowing that their loved ones gave everything in service to their nation.
May their souls rest in eternal peace. Their courage will not be forgotten.

Seyi Makinde was also the only governor to question the total lockdown and shutdown of people’s businesses and livelihood in 2020.
He managed it with a separate approach and Oyo state was fine.

Going by the achievements of Seyi Makinde and Peter Obi as two-term governors, both are businessmen who have built industries, both are southerners, Christians, and relatively young leaders. However, Seyi Makinde today appears to have a broader understanding of Nigeria’s problems and political realities based on his governing experience.
He is also younger and more energetic. This is why many well-meaning Nigerians, southern leaders, and clergymen should encourage Peter Obi to step down for a younger southern candidate who has the strength and energy to serve a full 8 years.
Peter Obi himself has repeatedly stated that he would not want to remain in office beyond 4 years due to personal reasons, even “with a gun to his head.” If that is the case, then it may be better for him to support and mentor a younger leader who can sustain the southern presidency for a 8yr period.
He should step down.
I love Peter Obi with all my heart , but if it’s performance and results that matter, I’m casting my vote for Seyi Makinde in 2027. I’ve always said it: the day this man announces for President, I’m fully in!
