Mainnet 🔥
The Optimum team is pleased to announce our first mainnet deployment, mump2p on Ethereum. With mump2p, data moves across all of Ethereum 2-3x faster, boosting validator performance and network health. $3.4B of Ethereum stake is already being boosted by mump2p, and we’re now opening up free access for all Ethereum node operators.

Why Speed Is Money on Ethereum Think of every Ethereum block as a mini auction. Every 12 seconds one validator picks a block from builders who bid for the spot, and the bids tend to climb the longer the validator waits. There’s a limit though. The block still has to reach the rest of the network in time, so the validator has to stop waiting at some point. On a slow network, that point comes earlier. Research from @get_optimum, co-authored by CEO and RLNC co-inventor @MurielMedard , shows one slot where a higher bid arrived just 60ms after the validator’s cutoff. The validator had already locked in a lower one. Across a full week of relay data, the team found that an extra 50-150ms of waiting time adds up to roughly 150-190 ETH in extra value. Optimum’s answer is mump2p, a data propagation protocol built on RLNC. On Ethereum’s Hoodi testnet it delivered blocks in about 150ms on average, roughly 6x faster than Gossipsub’s ~1 second. Faster delivery means validators can wait a bit longer and catch the better bid. A few milliseconds turn out to be worth a lot of ETH.

optimum doesn’t really send data. it sends equations. and somehow every piece that arrives is useful. nothing feels wasted. nodes just collect enough of them and rebuild the whole thing themselves. kinda beautiful how quiet it is.🤍🤍🤍 @get_optimum
most people think faster blockchains only come from better execution. but before a block can be executed or reach consensus, it has to get to every node first. that’s where most networks still struggle.with traditional gossip, every node has to receive the exact same packets in roughly the right order. if something gets lost or delayed, the whole thing slows down or needs retransmission. mump2p does something different. instead of sending the full block as raw data, it breaks the message into smaller pieces and mixes them into random linear combinations , coded shards. each shard carries useful information, but no single shard is the “complete” data. the interesting part is what happens next. a node doesn’t need to wait for the full message before it can start forwarding. as soon as it has a few shards, it can create new combinations on the fly and pass those along. this is called recoding. so the network doesn’t have to wait for perfect delivery. it just keeps moving useful pieces forward. when a node collects enough independent shards, it can reconstruct the original block. it doesn’t matter which specific pieces it got, only that it has enough unique information. that’s why packet loss hurts a lot less. instead of asking “where is the missing packet?”, the network asks “do we have enough information yet?”and because nodes can forward and recode early, the data spreads faster and more efficiently than classic gossip. mump2p is built on top of this idea, using RLNC to make block and blob propagation both quicker and more resilient , without changing consensus or requiring new hardware. sometimes the biggest gains don’t come from rewriting the rules. they come from fixing how information actually moves. @get_optimum

Living somewhere with unstable power and degraded connectivity teaches you an instinct: any system that only boots in pristine conditions is fragile. The real test is what stays alive when the surrounding infrastructure collapses. When my timeline started buzzing about @get_optimum, I wanted to understand the actual math under the hood - the Galois field equations from @MurielMedard and the consensus architecture from @aleksb3z, not just marketing slogans. Digging into the repositories (optimum-dev-setup-guide, trace.pb.go) and telemetry made me realize something fundamental: calling Optimum just "a faster P2P protocol" actually understates what was built. In sterile datacenter fiber (0.1% packet loss), libp2p GossipSub already delivers efficiently (~120ms). Optimum even pays an honest computational tax: Galois field GF(2^8) matrix setup and ~8.5ms of AVX-512 CPU time running Gaussian elimination. In a clean lab vacuum, GossipSub holds up fine. The real breakthrough begins when the physical internet starts failing. Instead of synthetic guesses, I built an independent benchmark calibrated against real telemetry from documented infrastructure crises - from subsea cable cuts in the Red Sea and West Africa to cloud routing collapses. I packaged the benchmark into two open resources: Interactive Benchmark Deck: [mummp2p.vercel.app] Auditable Monte Carlo Engine (seed-42): [colab.research.google.com/dr…] Here is what the math reveals: The GossipSub Bottleneck: A 1MB EIP-4844 blob is ~700 MTU packets. The second packet loss crosses 10%, GossipSub drops fragments and libp2p forces nodes to wait for 1,000ms HeartbeatInterval ticks just to request missing pieces via IHAVE/IWANT. Tail latency spikes past 2,300ms - dangerously close to Ethereum’s 4,000ms attestation cliff. mumP2P’s Algebraic Resilience: mumP2P doesn't play the "Coupon Collector’s" game of begging peers for specific missing chunks. It treats data as random linear equations. With K=4 and N=6 (1.5x redundancy), receiving ANY four equations decodes the entire 1MB block in ~300ms. The Economic Impact: Under 15% network loss, mumP2P reclaims over 1,150ms of slot buffer. In the PBS hot path, that extra second allows builders to compute optimal blocks, maximizes validator yield, and secures a 0.00% orphan rate. Optimum isn’t just an optimization for ideal conditions. It is an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) for Layer 0. It absorbs physical infrastructure shocks - severed ocean cables, saturated gateways, routing failures - directly at the algebraic level so consensus never misses a slot. @get_optimum @kentlinyy @MurielMedard @aleksb3z @sajidazouarhi @blockchainjeff - thank you for bringing rigorous information theory into production consensus. I hope this work helps highlight the true resilience you’ve built.

Preface : Optimum-Book Reading long, dry technical documents is something most people avoid. That’s why I created Optimum-Book : a simple, illustrated guide that breaks down the @get_optimum project in a way even students can easily understand. It is not yet complete, it is just an initial demo 🤠

➲ My idea became a quest in Optimum World! 🌍 💡 Two weeks ago, I suggested an idea to @baisedit for a Community Quest in Optimum World - hide seven letters, collect them to crack a code, and unlock a secret door with a reward inside. And now, the quest is live in the game, featuring my character - umpia_eth. ➥ I got the role of the secret door keeper, so players will have to meet me in person to complete the quest. ✦ How to complete the Community Quest: ▸ Find me behind the houses on Community Street ▸ Find the seven hidden letters around the houses ▸ Put the letters in the correct order to crack the code ▸ Come back to me and take a photo together to get the final letter ▸ Enter the code, open the secret door, and claim your reward 🖼️ After completing the quest, you'll receive a card for your achievement. Save it and share it on X, tagging @get_optimum and me. ♡ Thanks to @baisedit for making my idea part of the game. Now I have my own quest in Optimum World, and you have one more reason to explore Community Street. 🚪 See you behind the secret door!

.@copyfomo already supports copy-trading across multiple chains, but there's always room to expand. So I'm curious about something... Which chain should copyfomo support next? 👀 From my POV, they have the major ones in the trenches. So for me, nothing comes to mind. There's a lot happening across different ecosystems, and I'm curious to see what gets added next. Drop your picks in the comments 👇 t.me/copyfomo_bot

this is the kind of feedback that keeps me going 💚 thank you for stepping into optimum world and sharing it like this. really touched by your words community street belongs to all of us, and i'm just getting started @get_optimum with love
Today, I finally stepped into Optimum World, and honestly, it felt like more than just entering a game. 🏙️ Created by @baisedit , this little virtual city gives the @get_optimum community a place to explore, connect with the project, meet the team, and even build a home of our own on Community Street. What I love most about this idea is the meaning behind it. A community isn't just a group of people following the same account or talking about the same technology. It's about creating a place where people feel involved, where everyone can leave a little piece of themselves, and where we can build something together. And that's what makes Optimum World so special to me. It brings the community closer to the project in a fun and creative way, turning support into an experience we can actually take part in. Big thanks to @baisedit for putting so much creativity and thought into this. Building something like this for the community is such a cool idea, and I really appreciate the effort behind it. You're truly talented, Baised! ❤️ I'm happy to be part of the Optimum community, and this is just the beginning of my journey in Optimum World. Can't wait to explore more, complete quests, and see what else is waiting for us. Much love to Optimum and everyone building this community together. 💙

The article got me thinking about international arbitration, built into the internet and operating at machine speed. @GenLayer brings on-chain adjudication in minutes, at the cost of a regular network transaction. A missing layer for trustless A2A commerce to scale.
The internet never had a judge. AI agents are about to move $9 trillion. Nobody built the part that handles disagreement. GenLayer did. And now you can become part of it: portal.genlayer.foundation/g…

tradfi latency is a location game. sit next to the matching engine. pull a private fiber. you see the price before the room does. onchain the venue isn’t a building. it’s nodes, spread out. the block still has to travel between them. sitting closer to one server doesn’t skip that trip. so the edge moves. not where you sit. how fast the data actually arrives.‌ that’s the direction @get_optimum is built around. speed up the path, not the seat. validators already get the free piece. mump2p next to the client. no consensus change. the more nodes run it, the shorter that trip gets for everyone. traders are the next room. see the signal sooner. land the trade faster. same network. just a different person waiting on it. cc : @blockchainjeff @cryptooflashh @aqccapital

Three ways to plug into Fermah For anyone who just found the project, here is the short map. Build If you have a process that needs trustless execution, Kernel is the engine for it. The team takes inbound through the site and the docs cover the architecture. Play Flashcast Social is in private beta. Sign in with X, make a call, create a market. No money is involved anywhere in it, only Casts and Karma. Read The blog goes deep on how autonomous workflow execution and autonomous ZK proof generation actually work. The code lives on GitHub. Worth knowing who is behind it: @fermah_xyz is backed by a16z crypto, Lemniscap, Bankless Ventures, Lambda Class, LongHash Ventures and others, and works with teams like Scroll, ZKsync, Aligned, Boundless and zkVerify.
